Mr. Advardo L. Dames enlisted in the Royal Bahamas Police Force on March 2, 1990, and is currently serving as the Officer in Charge of the Grand Bahama and Northern Bahamas District. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held numerous leadership positions, where he has consistently demonstrated his commitment to public safety and law enforcement excellence. His experience includes serving in the following divisions: Mr. Dames is a proud graduate of St. Augustine's College High School in Nassau, Bahamas. He holds a Diploma in Forensic Science from the American Institute of Applied Science in North Carolina, USA, and an Associate Degree in Accounting from Atlantic College and Theological Seminary in Nassau, Bahamas. He is a recipient of several prestigious honors, including the Royal Bahamas Police Force Medal for Gallantry for acts of heroism during Hurricane Dorian, the Medal for Meritorious Service for significant contributions to criminal investigations, and the Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct. His achievements within the force have been shaped by the superb tutelage and mentorship of former leaders of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, as well as invaluable training from both international and local institutions. Notable training includes: In addition to his law enforcement career, Mr. Dames is an active member of the Whole Man Christian Center church in Grand Bahama, where he serves as a Minister and Treasurer. He is married to Edith Leverne Dames, and together they have four sons: Advardo, Angelo, Zion, and Shiloh. Mr. Dames is deeply committed to the values of leadership and public service. He subscribes to the philosophy of Barry Posner and James Kouzes, which emphasizes that leaders should model the way, share an inspired vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and motivate the heart.
