Police are investigating a Traffic Fatality

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a traffic fatality which occurred on Thursday 15th, July 2021.

Preliminary reports are that Shortly after 11:00 a.m., police were called to a traffic collision that occurred on Charles W. Saunders Highway involving two vehicles. On the arrival of the first responding officers, they confirmed an accident involving a green Toyota Rav4 and a White Mack Truck. An inspection of the Rav4 revealed two males and one female occupants, all suffering from injuries. However, a male in the front passenger seat was unresponsive.

Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and rendered medical assistance to the victims. The unresponsive male was pronounced lifeless, and the male and female were transported to the hospital. Their condition is not known at this time. Initial investigations revealed that the Toyota Rav4 was driving east along Charles W. Saunders Highway, when the driver lost control and collided into the Mack Truck. The Royal Bahamas Police Force Traffic Division will continue investigation into this matter.

Police have launched an investigation into a recent Homicide

Detectives on the island of New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male which occurred on Thursday 15th, July 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 6:00 p.m., police were called to a shooting incident which occurred on Mauritius Avenue, Elizabeth Estate. Officers responded and on their arrival at the scene, they found an adult male lying on the ground in front of a residence unresponsive. He was suffering from wounds consistent with gunshots. Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and following their examination they pronounced the male lifeless.

Initial investigations reveals that the victim had recently arrived at the residence to return an item. When he was approached by a lone gunman who discharged the weapon in his direction fatally wounding him. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. Investigations into this matter continue.

Police are investigating a shooting incident

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday 15th, July 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 11:00 p.m., police were called to a shooting incident that occurred on Lightbourne Avenue. On the arrival of the first responding officers, they were directed to a residence where they met an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later transported to the hospital by Emergency Medical Services. His condition is not known at this time.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim was walking along Lightbourne Avenue, when three males approached him. One of them produced a firearm and shot him several times about his body. The suspects fled the scene on foot. Investigations into this matter continues.
