POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident which occurred on Saturday 16th, January 2021, that resulted in a male being detained in hospital.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 2:00 p.m. police received reports of a shooting incident on Joe Farrington Road. Upon the officers' arrival at the scene, inquiries revealed that as a result of a traffic accident two males got into an altercation. One of the males produce a handgun and shot the other male before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital via a private vehicle. Investigations into this matter continue.

POLICE DISCOVERS FIREARM AND AMMUNITION
The crime fighting initiatives employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have again resulted in the discovery of a firearm, firearm parts, ammunition and dangerous drugs on Saturday 16th, January 2021.

In the first incident preliminary reports are that shortly before 10:00 a.m., a search warrant was executed on a residence situated McKinney Avenue by the officers from the Operations and K9 Unit. The search resulted in a quantity of suspected marijuana being discovered. A male suspect was arrested and taken into custody. Investigations into this matter continue.

In a second incident reports indicate that while on mobile patrol on Spruce Street, shortly before 8:00 p.m., officers from the Operations Unit observed two male who were clad in hoodies acting in a suspicious manner. When the suspects became aware of the patrolling unit, they both fled on foot. The officers pursued them. During the chase an officer noticed when one of the suspects threw an object, however, the suspects escaped. The officers returned to the area where the object was thrown, a black and silver Millennium G2 9mm pistol with (6) unfired rounds of ammunition was found. Investigation into this matter continues.

In a third incident a team of officers from COVID19 Unit executed a search warrant on a residence located Bozine Town shortly after 1:00 p.m. As a result of the search, officers discovered (5) .40 pistol barrels, (1) point 7.62 unfired rounds of ammunition and (13) marijuana plants and a quantity of suspected marijuana. Two male suspects were arrested and taken into custody. Investigation into this matter continues.
