Police arrested a male suspect for possession of an unlicensed firearm

The cooperation of members of the public and the Police has again resulted in the arrest of a male suspect and the removal of a firearm from the streets of New Providence on Monday 10th, May 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 3:00 p.m., officers from the operations unit acting on information proceeded to Gamble Heights. While there, they observed a male who fit the description they received. The suspect was approached, and a field search was carried out. During the search, a black pistol containing four unfired rounds of ammunition was retrieved from the suspect; he was arrested and taken into custody. Investigations into this matter continue.
