POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE COUNTRY'S LATEST HOMICIDE

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating the events surrounding the death of a male which occurred on Thursday 25th, March 2021

Preliminary reports are that sometime around 11:00 p.m., a male was walking along Dorsett Street, Fox Hill, when he was approached by two males who came from nearby bushes and shot him before making good their escape. The victim was transported to the hospital via a private vehicle where he later succumbed to his injuries.

POLICE ARRESTED A MALE FOR POSSESION OF AN UNLICENSED FIREARM

The proactive initiatives by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have again resulted in the recovery of an unlicensed firearm and the arrest of a male on Thursday 25th, March 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers from the Operations Unit were called to a disturbance in the community of Yellow Elder Gardens. While dealing with the incident the officers discovered an unlicensed shotgun along with (6) six unfired rounds of ammunition. As a result, an adult male was arrested and taken into custody. Investigations into this matter continues.
