POLICE DISCOVER DANGEROUS DRUGS FIVE SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
The strategies employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have resulted in the discovery of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Wednesday 10th, March 2021.

Preliminary reports are that sometime around 7:00 a.m., officers from the Drug Enforcement and K9 Unit acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant on a residence situated on Fire Trail Road. During the search, the officers found (13) thirteen sacks containing suspected marijuana. As a result, two females and five males were arrested in connection with this matter. Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident which occurred on Wednesday 10th, March 2021 and resulted in a male and female being detained in hospital.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 8:00 p.m., an adult male and female presented themselves to the East Street South Police Station. They reported that while in the area of Sequoia Street, Pinewood Gardens, a small dark vehicle approached them, and an occupant discharged a firearm in their direction. They were both injured as a result. The victims were transported to the hospital via Emergency Medical Services. Their conditions are not known at this time. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING TWO HOMICIDES
The circumstances surrounding two homicides that occurred on Thursday 11th, March 2021 are being investigated by the police on the island of New Providence.

In the first incident, preliminary reports are that sometime after 9:00 p.m., police were called to a shooting incident that occurred on Finlayson Street and Bola Avenue, Bain Town. Units responded and on the arrival of the officers, they were directed to a residence where an adult male and three juvenile males were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency Medical Service were summoned and following their examinations one of the juveniles, a 10-year-old male was pronounced lifeless. The three other victims were transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.

In the second incident, preliminary reports are that shortly after 10:00 p.m., police were called to the scene of a shooting incident that occurred at a residence situated on Barger Lane off Cox Street, Fox Hill. On the arrival of the first responding officers, they met a male lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced lifeless following an examination by the Emergency Medical Services personnel.

Information is that the victim was standing in front of his home, when he was approached by a lone gunman who shot him before making good his escape. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
