Three males and one female suspect arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm

The strategies employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have again resulted in officers arresting (3) three males and a female suspect for possession of Unlicensed Firearm on Thursday 9th, September 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 10:00 a.m., officers from the Operations Unit were on routine mobile patrol on Penny Savings Bank Lane. When they noticed the occupants of a Toyota Passo acting in a suspicious manner. The vehicle was stopped, and a field search was conducted. During the search, one of the officers discovered a 9mm pistol containing (10) ten unfired rounds of ammunition. Three males and a female were arrested and taken into custody. Investigation into this matter continues.

Police arrested a male suspect for Possession of Dangerous Drugs

The efforts of the Officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force and Bahamas Customs Department resulted in the discovery of dangerous drugs and the arrest of a male suspect on Thursday 9th, September 2021.

Preliminary reports are that sometime around 12:15, officers from the Bahamas Custom Department, while at Lynden Pindling International Airport conducted a joint operation. During the exercise the officers noticed a male who aroused their suspicion. The suspect who was travelling from Panama was approached and a field search conducted. As the officers carried out the search they discovered that the suspect had (2) two clear plastic bags taped to his body. An inspection of these bags revealed a white powdery substance believe to be cocaine. The 28-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody. The weight of the suspected drugs is one kilo and has an estimated street value of $20,000. Investigation into this matter continues.
