Police have arrested six suspects for possession of dangerous drugs

The proactive crime fighting strategies employed by the Royal Bahamas Police Force have resulted in the discovery of dangerous drugs on the island of New Providence on Wednesday 1st, September 2021.

Preliminary information is that shortly after 2:00 a.m., officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit along with the Police K9 Unit, acting on information went to Potter's Cay Dock. While there, they boarded a Motor Vessel that arrived from one of the Family Islands. The vessel was searched, and the officers discovered a brown cardboard box which contained three (3) kilos of suspected Cocaine. As a result, six (6) people which include one (1) adult female and five (5) adult males were arrested and taken into custody in connection to this matter. The weight of the drugs is 6 pounds and has an estimated street value of $60,000.00. Investigation into this incident is ongoing.
