NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE INVESTIGATES STABBING INCIDENT
Police have launched an investigation into a stabbing incident that occurred on Monday October 7, 2024 on Stack Avenue in Nassau Village which resulted in a 49-year-old male being hospitalized.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 6:00 p.m., the victim was reportedly stabbed multiple times to his upper body by a male known to him during a physical altercation between the two individuals.
The victim, was taken to the hospital by EMS personnel where currently, his condition is listed as critical.
Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
POLICE INVESTIGATES ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
Police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a 20-year-old male's attempted suicide, which occurred on Monday October 7, 2024 around 6:00 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, the victim reportedly ingested a quantity of over-the-counter medication while at a residence in the Seven Hills area.
He was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel for further medical attention and evaluation.
POLICE INVOLVED TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
Two male police officers involved in a traffic accident that occurred around 1:00 p.m., on Monday October 7, 2024 in the South Street area are expected to make a full recovery following non-life- threatening injuries.
Initial reports revealed that two male officers, who were in a marked Nissan Frontier, were proceeding south on Augusta Street at the intersection of South Street while the male driver of a gray Honda Fit was heading east on South Street when the two vehicles collided. As a result of the impact, the police vehicle overturned.
The injured officers were transported to the hospital by EMS personnel, where they were treated and discharged. Officers from the Traffic Division are continuing investigations.

ARRAIGNMENT UPDATE
Police wish to inform the public that 29-year-old Jason Rolle, 21-year-old Angelo Hanna, 30 year- old Omar Johnson, and 18-year-old Stephano Wray, all charged with Armed Robbery, along with 19-year-old Anpherney Riley charged with Receiving, were arraigned on Monday, October 7, 2024,before Magistrate Shaka Serville in Court #4.
Preliminary Information: On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the men used a sharp instrument to rob a group of American missionaries staying in the Gambier Village area.
The defendants Rolle, Hanna, Johnson, and Wray were not required to enter a plea due to the nature of the offense, and they were all remanded into custody at the Bahamas Department of Corrections.
The court granted defendant Riley bail in the amount of $5,000.00, with one or two suretors. Additionally, Riley was ordered to wear an electronic monitoring device and report to the Nassau Street Police Station every Wednesday and Sunday by 7:00 p.m.
The case is adjourned until 20.01.25 for the service of the voluntary bill of indictment and further court proceedings.
