FAMILY ISLANDS
ELEUTHERA: AN ESTIMATED 1500 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION & LARGE QUANTITY OF DANGEROUS DRUGS SEIZED BY POLICE An estimated fifteen hundred (1,500) rounds of assorted ammunition, along with a firearm and a large quantity of suspected Marijuana was confiscated by Police on Friday 26th January, 2024.
According to reports, shortly before 3:00 p.m., officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), the Anti-Gang and Firearms Investigation Task Force, along with police on the island of Eleuthera acting on information inspected a 40-foot container, at the Rock Sound Government dock where they discovered the items.
At present the weight of the drugs are unknown; however, police are questioning a 57 year old female in connection with this incident. Investigations continue.
NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE RECOVER VEHICLE IN ARMED ROBBERY Police recovered a stolen purple 2016 Chevrolet Colorado truck that was taken during an armed robbery on Friday 26th January, 2024.
Initial reports indicate that around 7:30 p.m., the victim pulled into the parking lot of a business establishment on Shirley Street near Kemp Road when she was accosted by a lone gunman who robbed her of her vehicle, before speeding off and traveling west on Shirley Street.
Officers from the Northeastern Division responded quickly, resulting in the vehicle being located and recovered on St. James Road in the vicinity of the Kemp Road Urban Renewal Office.
No arrest was made in connection with this incident; investigations are ongoing.
MALE SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION & AMMUNITION A 27-year-old male, who is known to police, and on bail for armed robbery while being electronically monitored is in police custody after he was found in possession of an illegal firearm containing ammunition on Saturday 27th January, 2024.
According to preliminary reports, around 2:30 a.m., officers from Operation Cease Fire, including officers from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, acting on intelligence, went to a bar on Nassau Street where they conducted a search of the suspect and discovered the weapon and ammunition. Police investigations continue.
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT A 34-year-old male is currently receiving medical attention for a gunshot wound following a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday 27th January, 2024.
Initial reports revealed that shortly after 1:00 a.m., the victim was walking on Bahamas Boulevard in Flamingo Gardens when the occupants of a small white rental Japanese vehicle opened fire on him, shooting him in the right leg.
The victim was taken to the hospital by emergency medical personnel and is currently in stable condition.

POLICE INVETSIGATE FATAL STABBING Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of an adult male that occurred on Saturday 27th January, 2024, at a bar in the vicinity of East Street and Soldier Road.
According to initial reports, around 2:00 a.m., the 18-year-old victim after being stabbed multiple times to the upper torso was being transported to the hospital in a private vehicle; however, the driver of the vehicle reportedly lost control while en route to the hospital and crashed into a wall near East Street and Sands Lane.
Responding officers and emergency medical technicians arrived on scene, they examined the victim but he showed no vital signs of life.

POLICE INVESTIGATE TRIPLE SHOOTING Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that has left one man dead and two adults, hospitalized.
The incident reportedly occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Friday 26th January, 2024, in the area of First Street, Coconut Grove, between Palm Tree Avenue and Robinson Road.
According to preliminary reports, the victims were gathered in front of a residence when the occupants of a white Nissan vehicle approached. It is reported that three males, all of whom were armed with firearms, exited the vehicle and opened fire on group.
The first victim, a 37-year-old male, sustained gunshot injuries to the upper torso and succumbed to his injuries, in hospital; the second and third victims, a 50-year-old female and a 31-year-old male, both sustained gunshot injuries to their lower extremities.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS
FOUR MALES ARRESTED: DANGEROUS DRUGS CONFISCATED: ABACO In two separate incidents police have arrested four adult males after they were found in possession of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Friday 26th January 2024. In the first incident, police arrested three males, ages 40, 38, and 33, from Treasure Cay, Abaco, shortly after 4:00 p.m.
According to reports, officers attached to the Marsh Harbour Police Station, while conducting road checks on George Albury Boulevard, Dundas Town, observed a gray Honda vehicle with three males acting suspiciously who sped off upon seeing the officers. After a short pursuit, the vehicle was brought to a stop where the driver was observed throwing a package under the vehicle. During the search, officers discovered a quantity of dangerous drugs, resulting in the arrest of the men.
The weight and value of the suspected marijuana are unknown at this time. Investigation continues.
In the second incident, a 35-year-old male from Central Pines, Abaco was arrested around 9: 30p.m. after he was found in possession of a quantity of suspected Marijuana.
According to reports, officers attached to the Marsh Harbour Police Station, executed a search warrant on a residence situated in Central Pines, Abaco where the drugs were found and seized.
The suspected marijuana weighed ¼ ounce with an estimated street value of $445.00. Investigation continues.
POLICE SEEK PUBLIC HELP IN LOCATING STOLEN VESSEL: ABACO
Police on Abaco are seeking the public’s help in locating a white 25-foot Grady vessel, REG # FL4796RF with two (2) 225hp engines attached.
The vessel, which was moored at a dock in Bailey Town, Bimini, was reportedly stolen between 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday 24th January, 2024 and 10:00 a.m. on Friday 26th January, 2024.
