November 8, 2021 Police are investigating a Traffic Fatality Preliminary reports are that shortly before 11:00 p.m., police were alerted to a traffic accident that occurred in the vicinity of Eastlyn and Village Road involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Officers were dispatched and on their arrival at that scene, they were directed to a gray 2015 Honda Accord which collided with a lamp pole. A further inspection of the scene revealed the unresponsive body of a male on the outside of the vehicle. Investigations revealed that the male driver of the Honda Accord was traveling south along Village Road when a vehicle that was overtaking in a northerly direction caused him to swerve, resulting in him colliding into a lamp pole and a male pedestrian. Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and pronounced the pedestrian lifeless. The driver was transported to the hospital by EMS as a result of injuries that he sustained. The Royal Bahamas Police Force Traffic Section will continue investigations into this matter.
