DEU Make Major Drug Bust. One Man in Custody

Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities, Drug Enforcement Unit officers took an adult male into custody following the seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 10th January 2017.

Reports are that around 3:30pm, Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on information went to, Skyline Drive where they observed an adult male with a large plastic bag in his hand ran from a Silver Note vehicle into the nearby bushes. The vehicle with two adult males inside then sped off. After a short foot chase the officers caught the suspect who ran into the bushes and found him with five (5) taped packages of cocaine.

The suspect was subsequently arrested. The other two suspects abandoned the vehicle after it crashed in the nearby area.

Later that day, Drug Enforcement Officers conducted a search of an apartment occupied by the suspect and found eight (8) additional taped packages of cocaine. The estimated weight of the drugs is 20 pounds. Investigations are ongoing.
