More Police Officers Recognized at Government House

An additional 200 police men and women were once again was honoured at the Government House today in another Presentation of Medals Ceremony.

This ceremony comes within a week when the first groups of more than 200 officers were honoured for meritorious, long and faithful service to the organization.

This ceremony recognizes police officers who have performed their duties in such a manner that's deserving of much praise and merit.

The award categories included the following-


  • The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, which is awarded to officers who have served for a period of eighteen years with a good conduct record.

  • The Meritorious Medal which is awarded to officers who have performed exceptionally well in the execution of their duties as a peace officer.

  • The Gallantry Medal which is presented to police officers who have performed acts of bravery, including saving the life of another and or willingly placing themselves in danger in the course of their duty.
