Governor General Presents Medals to Police Officers

More than 200 police officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force were recognized at the Government House at a Presentation of Medals Ceremony in their honour. This ceremony recognizes police officers who have performed their duties in such a manner that's deserving of much praise and merit. The award categories included the following-

The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, which is awarded to officers who have served for a period of eighteen years with a good conduct record.

The Meritorious Medal which is awarded to officers who have performed exceptionally well in the execution of their duties as a peace officer.

The Gallantry Medal which is presented to police officers who have performed acts of bravery, including saving the life of another and or willingly placing themselves in danger in the course of their duty.

Presenting the medals and bringing remarks was Governor General Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling.

Also bringing remarks was Minister of National Security the Hon. Dr. Bernard J. Nottage.
