Firearm and Drugs Seized in Spanish Wells. Man and Woman in Custody

Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities, Police in Eleuthera took a man and woman into custody following the seizure of an illegal handgun along with a quantity of dangerous drugs on Thursday 5th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 3:00pm, Police were on routine patrol in Spanish Wells, when then saw a man in a restaurant who aroused their suspicion. The officers conducted a search of the man and found a pistol with 3 live rounds of ammunition along with a small quantity of cocaine. The man was then taken into custody.

A short while later, the officers executed a search warrant at the home of the man in Spanish Wells, where they uncovered a quantity of marijuana and cocaine. The man's wife was subsequently taken into custody. Investigations are ongoing.
