BODY OF A LITTLE GIRL FOUND IN WATERS AT ARAWAK CAY
POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery a young girl found dead in waters at Arawak Cay on Saturday 3rd June 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 1:00pm, the body of a young girl was found floating in the water at the Eastern End of Arawak Cay. The body was retrieved from the water and taken to shore where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Police suspect the body to that of 7- year old ELNORA LEZETTE BULLARD of Family Street, New Providence, who was reported missing shortly before 7:00pm on Friday 2nd June 2017, by family members following a beach picnic at the eastern end of Arawak Cay. Investigations are ongoing.

FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION ARREST - ABACO

Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, Police in Abaco arrested three males in two separate incidents for possession of illegal firearms and ammunition on Saturday 3rd June 2017.

In the first incident shortly after 2:00am, officers while at a business establishment on Don McKay Blvd, took a male into police custody after he was found in possession of a 9mm pistol with (2) rounds of 9mm ammunition.

In the second incident a short time later, officers also arrested two males in the area of the Government Complex on Don McKay Blvd, after they were stopped in a white truck and recovered a .40 pistol with (8) .40 rounds of ammunition.

All suspects are expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate's Court early next week.

MAN ARRESTED WITH AN ILLEGAL HANDGUN

Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017 officers assigned to the Selective Enforcement Team seized a handgun and took a man into custody on Saturday 3rd June 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 1:00am, Selective Enforcement Team officers were on patrol on Nassau Street saw a man walking in the area who aroused their suspicion. When the officers approached, the man pulled a firearm from his waistband and dropped it before fleeing on foot. The man was accosted after a short foot chase. The firearm, a .40 Austria Pistol, was seized and the man was taken into custody.

HANDGUN, AMMO AND DRUGS SEIZED IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS

Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017 police seized a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition and dangerous drugs in separate incidents on Friday 2nd June 2017.

In the first incident, around 1:00pm, Eastern Division officers were on an operation in the area of Francis Avenue, when an abandoned building was searched and a quantity of marijuana seized. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

Then shortly thereafter Eastern Division officers were on an operation in the area of Cox Street, when an abandoned building was searched and ten .40 rounds of ammunition was seized. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

In the final incident, shortly before 7:00pm, Mobile Division officers acting on information searched a bushy area off Charles Saunders Highway and uncovered a Millennium pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition, along with a quantity of marijuana. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are seeking the public's help in locating four men responsible for a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Friday 2nd June 2017.

According to reports around 10:00pm, a man was involved in an altercation with four men on Young Street, when one them shot him. The four men then fled on foot. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC'S HELP IN LOCATING MISSING GIRL

Police are seeking the public's help in locating 7 year old ELNORA LEZETTE BULLARD of Family Street, New Providence, who was reported missing shortly before 7:00pm on Friday 2nd June 2017, by family members following a beach picnic at the eastern end of Arawak Cay.

Young Elnora is described as a dark brown girl, slim build, about 3' 7" to 4' in height with a noticeable scar on her left cheek. She was last seen wearing a beige bathing suit.
