CAT ISLAND MAN IN CUSTODY FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, police in Cat Island took a man into after they found him in possession of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 28th March 2017.

According to reports, shortly before 7:00pm, officers in Cat Island were on mobile patrol in McQueens, when a Ford truck with one man aboard was intercepted.

The vehicle was searched and a quantity of cocaine and marijuana was found. The man was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

THREE MORE GUNS SEIZED, 2 MEN IN CUSTODY

Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, police took two men into custody following the seizure of three illegal weapons in two separate incidents.

In the first incident which occurred shortly before 12:00midnight on Tuesday 28th March 2017, Selective Enforcement Team officers executed a search warrant on a home located on Key West Street and found a bag containing a shotgun along with a quantity of marijuana. An adult male resident of the home was subsequently taken into custody.

Then around 4:30pm on Wednesday 29th March 2017, Selective Enforcement Team officers executed a search warrant on a home located at Sunset Park off Carmichael Road, where they found a .40 Pistol and a 9 millimeter Pistol along with 21 live rounds of ammunition. An adult male resident of the home was subsequently taken into custody.

THREE MEN WANTED FOR BREACH OF SUPREME COURT BAIL CONDITIONS

Police are seeking the public's help in locating three men who are wanted for breaching the terms of their bail conditions issued by the Supreme Court.

The first suspect is 22 year old Codero Smith of Halifax Street, Stapledon Gardens.

Smith is a dark brown male, slim build and about 5' 10" tall.

The second suspect is 21 year old Delano Taylor of St. Albans Drive.

Tayloris a dark brown male, slim build and about 5' 10" tall.

The final suspect is 21 year old Vilner of Desir of St. Albans Drive.

Desir is a dark brown male, slim build and about 6' tall.

These three men are considered to be armed and dangerous.

Police advise the public not to approach them. Instead, contact the police immediately with any information.

Police wish to remind members of the public that it is a criminal offence to harbour wanted individuals, and persons providing a safe haven for these criminals will be prosecuted.

ARMED ROBBERY - GRAND BAHAMA

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday 28th March 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 12:00pm, a male armed with a handgun entered a business establishment in Russell Town, Eight Mile Rock and robbed the employee before making good his escape on foot.

A short time later police arrested a 22 year old male of Russell Town, Eight Mile Rock, who is assisting police with their investigation into this matter.
