TWO SHOP BREAKERS CAUGHT IN THE ACT, ONE SHOT

Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, Mobile Division officers took two adult males into custody after they were caught in the act breaking into a business establishment on Saturday 18th February 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 2:00pm, Police received a report of a shop breaking in progress at a business establishment located on Chesapeake Road. Officers were immediately dispatched to the location and on arrival the officers were confronted by two male suspects who dropped a number of appliances to the ground. One of the suspects was immediately arrested and the other was shot during the confrontation. Police recovered a number of appliances to include a flat screen television, laptop computers and cell phones. The injured suspect was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition under heavy police guard.

Police were in search of the two suspects in connection with a number of Shop Breakings.

THREE HELD IN CONNECTION WITH DRUG FIND

Consistent with the Commissioner's Police Plan for 2017, Mobile Division officers seized 22 small bottles of marijuana after intercepting a car while on routine patrol at Hospital Lane and Bias Street on Friday 17th February, 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 9:00pm, Mobile Division officers were on routine patrol on Hospital Lane and Bias Street, when a grey Cube motorcar occupied by three males was intercepted.

The vehicle was subsequently searched and the drugs reportedly found.

The three male occupants were taken into custody in connection with the discovery.

POLICE IN INAGUA PROBE ALLEGED DROWNING DEATH OF A MALE

Police in Inagua are investigating the circumstances surrounding the apparent drowning death of an adult male that occurred on Friday 17th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 12:00noon, a man was on a fishing trip with three other males in waters off Inagua when he lost consciousness while diving in the water. The victim was transported to shore and taken to the local clinic where he was pronounced dead.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT IN SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are searching for a male suspect responsible for a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Saturday 18th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 12:00midnight, a man was standing in front of a home located on Laird Street, when a man armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The man was taken to hospital where he is detained with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
