POLICE INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC FATALITY

Traffic Division Officers in New Providence are investigating a traffic accident which has left a male child dead on Thursday 14th December, 2017.

According to reports, shortly before after 6:00pm, police were called to a traffic accident that had occurred on Florida Court off Balfour Avenue, involving a tow truck and an 8 year old male. The child was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the tow truck was not injured. He remained on scene and is assisting police with this investigation.

Investigation continues into this matter.

THREE SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY IN CONNECTION WITH RECENT MURDER

Police are questioning three men in connection with the recent murder which occurred on Sunday 10th December, 2017 on Shirley Street. The men were taken into custody on Wednesday, 13th December, 2017 and are assisting police with this investigation

FIREARM AND AMMUNITION DISCOVERED IN ABACO

On Thursday 14th December 2017 shortly before 5:00pm, Officers of the Abaco Division acting on information went to an area on West Bay Street, Dundas Town and discovered on a vacant property (5) packages of suspected marijuana, estimated weight 2lbs., a silver .45 pistol and (50) .45 ammunition.

No arrest was made in this matter, police are investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY-ABACO

Police in Abaco are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday 14th December 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 9:00pm, two unknown males who were described as slim built, both clad in black hoodies with face covered and armed with a firearm, entered a business establishment on Murphy Town Drive and robbed the owner of an unknown amount of cash and personal items before making good their escape.

Police are appealing for to the general public for any information that can assist in this investigation to call the Abaco Division at telephone number 367-2560/367-3437, or the 2 Central Detective Unit in Grand Bahama at telephone numbers 350-3107 thru12, 911/919 or call your nearest police station.
