ILLEGAL FIREARM SEIZED, 3 MEN IN CUSTODY
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities for 2017, Officers attached to the Firearm Tracing and Investigations Unit seized an illegal firearm at the corner of Market Street and Cordeaux Avenue on Saturday 28th January 2017.

Three men were taken into custody in relation to the seizure. Reports are that shortly after 8:00pm, Firearm Tracing and Investigations Unit officers were on routine patrol, when they signaled the driver of a Honda Accord vehicle with three men aboard to stop. The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found a .45 pistol with 8 live rounds of ammunition. The three men who were in the car were subsequently taken into custody.

POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION IN TWO ARMED ROBBERIES
The police are appealing to the public for information to assist in their investigations into two separate armed robberies.

In the first incident, shortly before 8:00pm on Friday 27th January 2017, eight parishioners were attending practice session at a church located at Ernest and York Street, when a man armed with a handgun entered the church and robbed them of cash and two cell phones before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly before 10:00am on Saturday 26th January 2017, a woman was sitting in her red Kia jeep at Yamacraw Beach, when two men armed with a handgun approached and robbed her of her vehicle before speeding off. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the Fox Hill area.

POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION IN TWO SHOOTINGS
The police are also appealing to the public for information to assist in their investigations into two separate shooting incidents that occurred on Saturday 28th January 2017.

In the first incident, shortly after 10:00am, a man was standing in front of a home located on Deveaux Street off East Street, when a man armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in serious condition.

Then shortly after 10:30am, a man was standing on Grant Street off Bernard Road, when the occupants of a red Kia jeep approached and shot him before speeding off. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition. The getaway vehicle was later found abandoned in the Fox Hill area
