ILLEGAL FIREARM SEIZED, 1 MAN ARRESTED
Police has taken an adult male into custody following the seizure of an illegal handgun on Monday 4th December, 2017. According to reports, shortly after 10:00pm, officers assigned to the Mobile Division, were on routine patrol on Avacardo Street, Pinewood Gardens when they observed a male throwing a firearm to the ground and ran.

The officers arrested the man and recovered an Austria Glock 9mm pistol and ten (10) rounds of ammunition. Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL FIREARMS RECOVERED
Shortly after 4:00pm on Monday 4th December, 2017 Anti-Gang and Firearms Officers acting on information went to a Community Park on McKinney Avenue, Stapleton Gardens, where they searched a bushy area and recovered a .40xdm pistol and a .380 Glock pistol with six (6) rounds of ammunition.

No arrest was made in this matter. Investigations are ongoing.

FIREARMS LICENSING OFFICE NEW OPERATING HOURS
The Royal Bahamas Police Force Firearms Licensing Office on University Boulevard will be open to the public from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am - 4pm and on Saturdays from 10:00am 2:00pm until further notice.

The office will be closed on Sundays and Holidays. Members of the Public who have not already done so, are asked to visit the office on Thompson Boulevard to renew their license. All firearms Licenses will expire as of 31st December, 2017. After this date, a late fee will be charged at the time of renewal.
