TODAY'S CRIME REPORT 2017

WANTED MURDER SUSPECT ALONG WITH FOUR OTHERS TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY
Police is please to report that four males along with a female will appear in court today (Friday 27th January 2017) at 2:30pm on a number of serious charges.

Amongst them is wanted suspect Amal Hunter, AKA Bow, who will be formally charged for the murder of Keno Kelly that occurred on January 14, 2017.

The other suspects are:

  • An adult male for the January 15, 2017 murder of Raynor Davis
  • An adult male for Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm with intent to Endanger Life
  • An adult male and female for Harboring a wanted criminal

FOUR FIREARMS SEIZED-2 SUPECTS IN CUSTODY
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities for 2017, Police took four (4) illegal firearms off the streets of New Providence in separate incidents. In the first incident shortly after 12:00noon on Thursday 26th January 2017, officers from the Firearm Tracing and Investigations Unit acting on information, conducted a search of a building under construction located on Dorsette Street, where they uncovered an AK-47 Assault Rifle with 21 live rounds of ammunition. No one was arrested for this discovery.

In the second incident, around 2:30pm on Thursday 26th January 2017, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team along with officers from the South Central Division executed a search warrant on a home located in Mason's Addition, where they uncovered a 9- millimeter pistol and a .357 Revolver along with 6 rounds of ammunition. Three adult females and two adult males were subsequently taken into custody.

In the final incident, shortly before 2:00am on Friday 27th January 2017, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team acting on information conducted a search of an abandoned vehicle located at Sunset Drive and Weddell Avenue, where they uncovered a .45 Austria Pistol with 5 rounds of ammunition. No one was arrested for this discovery.

TWO ARRESTED IN LARGE DRUG BUST
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities for 2017, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team took two adult males into custody following the seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs on Thursday 26th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 6:00pm, officers from the Selection Enforcement Team acting on information executed a search warrant on a home located at Infant View Road, where they uncovered 55 pounds of marijuana. Two adult males were subsequently taken into custody.

MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities for 2017, officers from the Mobile Division took an adult male into custody following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Friday 27th January 2017.

Reports are that around 11:00am, officers from the Mobile Division were on routine patrol on Madeira Street, Palmdale, where they saw an adult male walking with a bag. The officers accosted the male, conducted a search of the bag and uncovered a quantity of marijuana. The male was subsequently taken into custody.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police are searching for two suspects responsible for a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Thursday 26th January 2017.

Reports are that around 2:00pm, a man was standing outside a home located at Pear Street, San Souci, when by two males armed with a handgun approached and shot him before speeding off in a vehicle. The man was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition. Investigations are ongoing.
