POLICE SEIZE ANOTHER ILLEGAL GUN
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, Police seized another seized another illegal handgun off the streets of New Providence on Monday 18th September 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 9:00pm, a Police Motorcyclist assigned to the Police Traffic Department was traveling in the area of Churchill Subdivision when he saw a male who aroused his suspicion walking with a bag. The man on seeing the officer dropped the bag and fled on foot. The officer gave chase but was unable to catch him.

During a search of the bag a .22 revolver was found. Investigations are ongoing. This seizure brings to six (6) the number of illegal firearms removed from our communities in the past 48 hours.

AMMUNITION SEIZED
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities for 2017, Southwestern Division officers seized a quantity of ammunition on Monday 18th September 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 11:00am, Southwestern Division officers on routine patrol conducted a search of a parking lot off Britton Street, where they uncovered 14 live rounds of .9 - millimeter bullets. No one was arrested for this seizure.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT IN SHOOTING INCIDENT
POLICE are searching for a male suspect responsible for a shooting incident that has left a male detained in hospital on Monday 18th September 2017.

According to reports, shortly before 9:00pm, a male was standing by a club near Ida Street, when a male armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition. Investigations are ongoing.
