FIREARM AND AMMUNITION ARREST-GRAND BAHAMA
Police in Grand Bahama arrested a 31 year old male of Freeport, after he was found in possession of a firearm and ammunition on Thursday 31st August 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 10:00am, officers acting on information and while in the area of Explorers Way, stopped and searched a male and the surrounding areas where they uncovered a .45 Smith and Wesson pistol with a magazine containing (10) live rounds of ammunition.

He is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court early next week. Investigation is continuing.

OPENING OF THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR 2017/2018
In keeping with the Commissionerís Policing Plan for 2017, Grand Bahama and the Northern Bahamas District will conduct school point duties, mobile and cycle patrols, for the official opening of the New School Year at all government and private schools in Grand Bahama, Abaco and Bimini.

This endeavor is to sensitize parents and teachers on school safety and also to remind the motoring public of the need to adhere to the laws of the streets with emphasis on school zones.
