DEU OFFICERS IN GRAND BAHAMA, MADE TWO SIGNIFICANT DANGEROUS DRUG DISCOVERIES
In the first incident, reports are that on Thursday 3rd August 2017, shortly after 11:00am, Drug Enforcement Officers acting on information went to a residence on Ponce De Leon Drive where a large quantity of suspected marijuana was discovered in that residence. A 35 year old female was arrested and taken into police custody. The estimated amount of suspected marijuana is (50) pounds with an estimated street value of $50,000 (fifty thousand dollars).

In the second incident, reports are that on Friday 4th August 2017, shortly before 4:00pm, Drug Enforcement Officers while on patrol in the McCleans Town area, discovered in bushes a number of crocus type bags all containing suspected marijuana and a tar looking substance suspected to be Hash Oil. No arrest was made in this matter. The estimated amount of suspected marijuana is (310) lbs. with an estimated street value of $310,000 (three hundred and ten thousand dollars). Estimate weight of Hash Oil is 56 lbs. with an estimated street value of $280,000 (two hundred and eighty thousand dollars) All matters are under active police investigation.

TRAFFIC FATALITY- GRAND BAHAMA
Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a traffic accident that has left a male dead on Friday 4th August 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 4:00pm, a traffic accident occurred on Settlers Way involving a 1999 Toyota Ram driven by a 26 year old male with a seven year old female passenger. The vehicle collided with a wooden utility pole and sustained extensive front damages. EMS personnel were called to the scene and transported the male passenger to the Rand Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are actively investigating this matter.

POLICE SEIZE MORE THAN 1,000 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION IN A HOME: ONE MAN IN CUSTODY
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities for 2017, Police took a man into custody after they seized 1,398 rounds of ammunition at his home on Friday 4th August 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 6:00pm, a team of officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit, accompanied by officers from the Selective Enforcement Team and K-9 Unit, executed a search warrant on a home located on St. Barts Road, Golden Gates.

During the search a large bag containing, 527 (7.62 rounds), 423 (.223 rounds), 216 (.45 rounds), 154 (.40 rounds) and 78 (9 millimeter rounds) was found. An adult male resident of the home was taken into custody in connection with the discovery. Investigations are ongoing.

12 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities for 2017, Mobile Division targeted patrols intended to reduce crime, and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities, has resulted in the arrests of three (12) persons during the past 24 hours for a number of offenses to include, possession of dangerous drugs, stealing and outstanding court warrants.
