LARGE DRUG SEIZURE IN GRAND BAHAMA

Consistent with the Commissioner Policing Plan for 2017, Officers in Grand Bahama acting on information and armed with a search warrant, entered a residence in West End and discovered on that premises a large quantity of suspected cocaine. A male who resides at that residence was arrested and taken into police custody, he is expected to be formally arraigned before the Magistrate Court this week.

The estimated weight of the drug seized is 471.5lbs and its estimated street value is just over four million dollars.

Investigation is continuing in this matter.

ARMED ROBBERY - ABACO

Police in Abaco are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Monday 26th June 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 9:00am, two males armed with a handgun entered a business establishment located in Treasure Cay, Abaco and robbed that establishment of cash before making good their escape.

Police are actively investigating this matter and are appealing to the general public for any information that can assist with this investigation to give them a call in Abaco at telephone number 367-2560, or call the Central Detective Unit in Grand Bahama at telephone numbers 350-3107 thru 12, 911/919 or contact your nearest police station.

MAN DEAD FOLLOWING FIGHT AT A NIGHTCLUB

Police are asking the public to come forth with any information they may have regarding fight at local nightclub that has left a man dead and two others detained in hospital on 27th June 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 2:30am, a fight broke out at a nightclub located on Farrington Road, that led to two males being shot and another stabbed. The three males were taken to hospital, where one of them succumbed. The two other males are detained in hospital, one in serious condition and the other in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT AND STOLEN VEHICLE

Police are searching for a male suspect responsible for stealing a vehicle during an armed robbery that on 26th June 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 11:30pm, a man was driving his black 2009 Suzuki Swift car in the area of Hospital Lane and Meeting Street, when two males armed with handguns approached and robbed him of his vehicle before speeding off.

Investigations are ongoing.
