AK-47 ASSAULT RIFLE TAKEN OUT OF THE HANDS OF A CRIMINAL
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, courageous officers assigned to the Selective Enforcement Team took a man into custody following the seizure of a AK-47 Assault Rifle on Thursday 22nd June 2017.

According to reports, around 1:00am, Selective Enforcement Team officers acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on home located on Kemp Road occupied by a lone male. During the search the officers uncovered an AK-47 Assault Rifle with two magazines containing seven (7) rounds of ammunition. The male occupant of the home was subsequently taken into custody.

TWO MEN IN CUSTODY FOR DRUG POSSESSION
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, police took two men into custody after seizing a quantity of dangerous drugs in separate incidents on Wednesday 21st June 2017.

In the first incident, around 12:00noon, Southwestern Division officers were on routine patrol on Fire Trail Road near Sir. Milo Butler Highway when they saw a driving a van who aroused their suspicion. The officers then signaled to the vehicle to stop. When the officers approached the vehicle the male threw a taped package outside which was retrieved and found to contain 5 pounds of marijuana. The man was subsequently taken into custody.

Then shortly after 1:00pm, Southeastern Division officers were on routine patrol on Gilda Street, Kennedy Sub-division, when they saw a man standing on a premises who aroused their suspicion. The officers accosted the man and found a plastic bag containing 16 small foil wrappings with marijuana in his possession. The man was subsequently taken into custody.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT IN SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police are searching for a lone male responsible for a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Wednesday 21st June 2017. According to reports, shortly after 11:30pm, a man was sitting in front of a home located at Hillside Estates, when a man in a gold coloured Ford Explorer vehicle, pulled up and shot him before speeding off. The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition. Investigations are ongoing.

ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT BEING SOUGHT BY POLICE
Police are searching for a lone male responsible for an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday 22nd June 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 12:00midnight, a woman had just pulled up to her home located at Boatswain Hill in her white 2012 Honda Accord Coupe, license plate # AD6916, when a slim male of a dark complexion armed with a handgun approached and robbed her of her vehicle before speeding off. Investigations are ongoing.

If You Witness a Crime If you see or suspect a crime is being committed, pay particular attention to the features of the offender(s) and any vehicles involved. Try to be prepared to provide at least the following about the offenders:

1. Age, complexion, height, and weight
2. Hair colour and style, beard and mustache;
3. Notable characteristics (scars, glasses, etc.)
4.Clothing description
5. Location where last seen
6. Last known direction of travel
7. Vehicle description and distinctive markings.

Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous may do so. It is more important that a response be 3 dispatched as quickly as possible
