26 ARRESTED, 379 DRIVERS TICKETED AS POLICE ISLAND-WIDE ASSAULT ON CRIME CONTINUES
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, police conducted another island-wide operation on Tuesday 20th June 2017 that let to the arrest of a number of persons and several drivers being ticketed for traffic violations.

The ongoing operations are aimed at suppressing crime in a number of areas and to send a clear message to those responsible for committing criminal acts on members of our communities that the police will proactively identify them and ensure that they are prosecuted and brought to justice.

Last night's operation led to the arrest of 26 persons for a number of criminal offenses and outstanding court warrants. Additionally, 379 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations.

TWO JUVENILES IN CUSTODY FOR A SPATE OF HOUSE BREAKINGS
Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Plan for 2017, Southern Division officers took two juvenile males into custody on Tuesday 20th June 2017, for questioning in connection with a number house breakings that occurred in the Oaks Field area over the past months.

A number of electronic items such laptops and cell phones stolen during the breakings were recovered. Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE PROBE APPARENT DROWNING OF A MALE VISITOR
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male visitor who died following a snorkeling incident on Tuesday 20th June 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00pm, a male visitor was snorkeling in waters off Rose Island, when he lost consciousness. The male victim was taken to shore where he was given first aid assistance and transported to Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT AND VEHICLE TAKEN IN ARMED ROBBERY
Police are searching for a lone gunman responsible for and armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday 20th June 2017.

According to reports, shortly before 11:00pm, a man was standing near his vehicle on Blue Hill Road north, when a slim dark male armed with a handgun robbed him of his red mini Cooper vehicle before speeding off. Investigations are ongoing.

WEEKLY PREVENTION CRIME TIP
If You Witness a Crime If you see or suspect a crime is being committed, pay particular attention to the features of the offender(s) and any vehicles involved. Try to be prepared to provide at least the following about the offenders:

1. Age, complexion, height, and weight
2. Hair colour and style, beard and mustache;
3. Notable characteristics (scars, glasses, etc.)
4.Clothing description
5. Location where last seen
6. Last known direction of travel
7. Vehicle description and distinctive markings.

Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous may do so. It is more important that a response be dispatched as quickly as possible
