FTIU Seize (2) Two Firearms

Police have removed 2 illegal firearms off the streets of New providence in three separate incidents on Thursday 26th December 2013.

In the first incident, around 10:40am, Firearms Tracing and Investigations Officers, acting on intelligence, went to Deans Alley, where they uncovered a shotgun in an abandoned building. No one was arrested in this matter.

In the second incident, around 2:25pm, Firearms Tracing and Investigations Officers, acting on intelligence, went to a bushy area on Vesey Street, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. No one was arrested in this matter.

Assault Rifle Recovered After High-Speed Chase

Two males ages 49 and 25 years along with a 20 year old female are in custody for possession of an unlicensed firearm after they were arrested following a high-speed chase on Thursday 26th December 2013. According to reports, shortly before 1:00am, Mobile Division Officers were on patrol on Baillou Hill Road, when they observed a grey Nissan Sentra vehicle with several occupants acting suspiciously. The officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the occupants drove off at a high rate of speed resulting in a high- speed chase throughout the Coconut Grove area. The vehicle was brought to a stop by police on Baillou Hill Road, where the occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Mobile Division Officers assisted by officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit gave chase and was able to arrest the three suspects. A search was conducted of the vehicle by police and an assault rifle was found. Investigations are ongoing.

3 Firearms Recovered

Police have removed three illegal firearms off the streets of New Providence in separate incidents on Wednesday 25th December 2013.

In the first incident, around 9:20am, Mobile Division officers, acting on intelligence, went to Williams Lane off Kemp Road, where they uncovered a shotgun. No one was arrested in this matter.

In the second incident, around 9:30am on Wednesday 25th December 2013, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, acting on intelligence, went o an abandoned building located on Thatch Palm Avenue, Pinewood Gardens, where they uncovered a handgun. No one was arrested in this matter.

In the third incident, shortly after 10:30pm, Mobile Division Officers acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a 34 year old suspect in the Seven Hills area and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in his possession. The suspect was then taken into custody where he is facing firearm related charges.

According to reports, shortly after 2:00pm on Monday 23rd December 2013, Firearms Tracing and Investigations Officers, acting on intelligence, went to a bushy area on Romer Street, Fox Hill, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. No one was arrested in this matter.

Marijuana Field Uncovered in Androm

Police have located three marijuana fields in North Andros, with an estimated street value of $250,000.00. According to reports, shortly after 9:00am, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by officers from the Andros District, acting on intelligence, went to bushes in the North Andros area, where they discovered three separate marijuana fields. Investigations are ongoing.

Police Recover (2) Firearms and Ammunition

Police have recovered two Firearms and a quantity of ammunition of the streets of New Providence in three (3) separate incidents.

In the first incident, around 10:30pm on Sunday 22nd December 2013, Mobile Division Officers, acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant at a Bimini Avenue home, where they uncovered a large quantity of ammunition. Seven males ages 29, 28, 22, 21,19 and 27 (x 2) were taken into custody. The men are expected to appear in court later this week to face firearm related charges.

In the second incident, shortly after 4:00am on Monday 23rd December 2013, police acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a man outside a local nightclub located on Baillou Hill Road and found a handgun in his possession. However, the suspect was able to escape from police.

In the third incident, around 4:20am on Monday 23rd December 2013, Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit Officers, acting on intelligence, went to Bimini Avenue, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)

According to reports, shortly before 6:00pm on Friday 20th December 2013, Firearms Tracing and Investigations Officers, acting on intelligence, went to Baillou Hill Road, where they uncovered a handgun in a garbage bin. No one was arrested in this matter.

According to reports, shortly after 8:00pm on Wednesday 18th December 2013, Police acting on intelligence went to the rear of an abandoned building on Market Street, where they uncovered a shotgun. No one was arrested in this matter.

FTIU & Mobile Seize Two (2) Firearms

Police has recovered two more firearms of the streets of New Providence during separate incidents on Monday 16th December 2013.

In the first incident, shortly before 9:00am, Mobile Division Officers, acting on intelligence went to Washington Street North, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition.

In the second incident, shortly before 12:00noon, Firearm Tracing and Investigation Unit Officers, acting on intelligence went to Woods Alley, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. Investigations are ongoing.

FTIU & Mobile Recover Two (2) Firearms

Intensified police patrols continue to yield results with the latest being the recovery of two more firearms of the streets of New Providence in separate incidents on Monday 16th December 2013.

In the first incident, shortly before 1:00am, Firearm Tracing and Investigation Unit Officers, acting on intelligence went to Commonwealth Boulevard, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in a garbage container.

In the second incident, shortly after 3:00am, Mobile Division Officers, acting on intelligence went to Arundel Street, where they uncovered a shotgun under a discarded refrigerator. No arrests were made in these incidents, however active investigations are ongoing.

FTIU Uncovers Firearm

According to reports, shortly after 12:30am on Sunday 15th December 2013, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Mangrove Avenue, Yamacraw Sub- Division, where uncovered a handgun in a garbage bin. No one was arrested in this matter. Investigations are ongoing.

Police Seize Four (4) Firearms

Police have recovered four illegal firearms of the streets of New Providence and arrested nine (9) persons in four separate incidents during the past twenty-four hours.

In the first incident, around 12:40pm on Friday 13th December 2013, officers of the Selective Enforcement Team, acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a motor vessel moored at Potters Cay Dock and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. Two men ages 45 and 35 were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to face firearms related charges.

In the second incident, around 1:35am on Saturday 14th December 2013 officers of the Selective Enforcement team, acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant at a home located at Mangrove Avenue, Yamacraw Sub-Division and uncovered a handgun and a quantity of ammunition along with quantity of marijuana. Four (4) men ages 62, 32, 31, and 20 along with a 36 - year old woman were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to face firearm and drug charges.

In the third incident, shortly after 2:00am on Saturday 14th December 2013 officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a bushy area at Balls Alley off Shirley Street, where they uncovered a handgun. No one was arrested in this matter.

In the fourth incident, shortly after 4:00am on Saturday 14th December 2013, Mobile Division Officers acting on intelligence went to Ernest and York Streets, where they observed two men acting suspiciously. The two men on seeing the officers dropped an object to the ground and fled on foot. The officers gave chase and after a short foot chase caught the two men. The officers retrieved the object thrown to the ground and found it to be a handgun. The two men ages 21 and 20 were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to face firearms related charges.

According to reports, around 9:15pm on Tuesday 10th December 2013, Selective Enforcement Team Officers acting on intelligence went to Woods Alley, where they uncovered a high-powered firearm. No one was arrested in connection with this matter.

Mobile Division Makes Firearm Arrest

Three (3) males age 28, 27 and 17 years are in custody after they were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Tuesday 10th December 2013. According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, Mobile Division Officers acting on intelligence conducted a search of a home located at Wilson Track, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. The three males were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court later this week to face firearm related charges.

According to reports, around 9:00pm on Tuesday 10th December 2013, Southeastern Division Officers acting on intelligence went to Palm Street, Pinewood Gardens, where they uncovered a shotgun. No one was arrested in connection with this matter.

According to reports, around 12:10am on Monday 9th December 2013, Mobile Division Officers acting on intelligence went to Whites Lane off Mackey Street, where they conducted a search of an abandoned truck and found a shotgun. No one was arrested in this matter.

SET Make Firearm Arrest

A 35-year old man of Pinewood Gardens is in custody after he was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Sunday 8th December 2013. According to reports, around 9:30pm, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team, acting on intelligence, conducted a search of the suspect at a local bar on Faith Avenue and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in his possession. The suspect was taken into custody and will appear in court later this week to face firearm related charges.

FTIU Recover Five (5) Firearms

An enhanced effort by the RBPF Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, aimed at ridding the streets of illegal firearms is paying off. Officers assigned to the Unit have removed more than 100 illegal weapons off streets across New Providence since its implementation in September 2013. The recovery of five (5) illegal weapons off the streets of New Providence on Thursday 5th December 2013, was yet another example of the excellent work of the unit.

In the first incident, around 11:20am, Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit officers acting on intelligence went to the car dump at Marshall Road, where they uncovered two handguns along with a quantity of ammunition in an abandoned vehicle in nearby bushes.

In the second incident, around 12:00noon, Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit officers, acting on intelligence, went to Sutton Street off Kemp Road, where they searched an abandoned building and found a sub-machine gun.

In the third incident, around 12:35pm, Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit officers, acting on intelligence, went to Amaryllis Avenue in Garden Hills, where they searched a dumpster and found a handgun with a quantity of ammunition.

In the fourth incident, shortly after 9:00pm, Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit officers, acting on intelligence went to Third Street off Robinson Road, where they uncovered a shotgun in an abandoned vehicle. No arrests were made in these incidents. Investigations are ongoing.

DEU Makes Firearm Arrest

Around 7:25pm on Wednesday 4th December 2013, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit were on patrol on Lewis Street, when they observed a male acting suspiciously. On seeing the officers the male dropped an object to the ground and fled on foot. The officers gave chase and were unable to catch the male. The officers located the object the male dropped to the ground and found it to be a handgun with a quantity of ammunition. Around 3:30am on Thursday 5th December 2013, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a 15- year old male at his Anderson Street home in connection with this matter.

DEU & Mobile Make Firearm Arrests

In the first incident, shortly before 9:00am on Wednesday 4th December 2013, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on intelligence went to Buttonwood Avenue, where the uncovered a handgun behind a building.

In the second incident, shortly after 2:30am on Thursday 5th December 2013, officers from the Mobile Division were on patrol on Baillou Hill Road South, when they stopped a Cherokee Jeep occupied by two males. The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. The two males ages 32 and 24 years were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court tomorrow to face firearm related charges.

DEU Uncovers Firearm

Police are searching for two men for firearm related charges. According to reports, on Tuesday 3rd December 2013, around 4:15pm a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) was on patrol at West Dennis Court, Yellow Elder Gardens, when they observed two men acting suspiciously. The men on seeing the officers dropped an object to the ground and fled on foot. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the two men. The officers uncovered the object from the ground and found it to be a handgun.

Mobile Division Uncovers Firearm and Ammunition

Police have recovered a firearm and a quantity of ammunition off the streets of New Providence in two separate incidents on Monday 2nd December 2013. In the first incident, around 7:45pm, officers from the Mobile Division, acting on intelligence, went to a bushy area on Alexandria Road where they uncovered a shotgun. In the second incident, shortly before 8:00pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Malcolm Road East where they uncovered a quantity of ammunition. No one was arrested in these incidents.

DEU Make Drugs and Firearm Arrest

A 43-year old man of Mason Addition is in custody after he was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of an unlicensed firearm on Monday 2nd November 2013. According to reports, around 12:00noon, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit were on motorized patrol on Spence Street, Masons Addition, when they observed the suspect acting suspiciously. The suspect on seeing the officers fled on foot. The officers gave chase and caught up with the suspect after a short foot chase. The officers conducted a search of the suspect and found a handgun with a quantity of ammunition in his possession. The officers also found a quantity of marijuana in the suspect's possession. The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to face firearms and drug related charges later this week. The weight of the drugs is one (1) pound with an estimated street value of $1000.00.

Mobile Division Makes Firearm Arrest

A 33 - year old man is in custody after he was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Monday 25th November 2013. According to reports, around 11:15pm, officers from the Mobile Division, acting on intelligence, conducted a search of the suspect at Montell Heights and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in his possession. The suspect was then taken into custody and will appear in court later this week on firearms related charges.

DEU Maks Firearm Arrest

Four (4) males ages 33, 21, 20 and 19 years are in custody after they were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Monday 25th November 2013. According to reports, around 7:45pm, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit were on patrol at Homestead Street, when they observed the four suspects acting suspiciously; the suspects on seeing the officers threw an object to the ground and fled on foot. After a short foot chase the officers caught up with the suspects and uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition from the ground. The suspects were taken into custody and are now facing firearm related charges. Investigations are ongoing.

According to reports, around 6:30pm on Saturday 23rd November 2013, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Buttonwood Avenue, Pinewood Gardens, where they located a handgun hidden in an abandoned building. Investigations are ongoing.

CIB Makes $13.5K Drug Bust at LPIA

Two (2) men ages 32 and 22 years of New Providence are in custody after they were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs on Friday 22nd November 2013. According to reports, around 3:45pm, officers from the RBPF Central Intelligence Bureau (CIB), acting on intelligence, went to the U. S. Departure Lounge at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA), where they conducted a search of a carryon bag owned by the two men and found a quantity of cocaine. The two men, who were travelling to the United States, were then taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to face drug charges. The estimate weight of the drugs is one-and-three-quarter pounds (1 3/4 lbs.), with a street value of thirteen thousand, five hundred dollars ($13,500.00).

In the first incident, around 9:55pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Kemp Road, where they located a handgun hidden in a garbage container.

In the second incident, shortly after 12:00midnight on Saturday 23rd November 2013, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Deveaux Street, where they located a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition.

Mobile Division Makes Firearm Arrest

Two (2) men ages 34 and 32 years of Pinewood Gardens are in custody after they were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Thursday 21st November 2013. According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, Mobile Division Officers, acting on intelligence, went to Thatch Palm Avenue in Pinewood Gardens, where they arrested the two suspects after finding a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in their possession.

Police Recover Seven (7) Firearms

Seven (7) more illegal guns were taken off the streets of New Providence on Monday 18th November 2013, as police officers continue to crackdown on the possession of illegal weapons.

In the first incident, shortly after 9:30am, officers from the Mobile Division, acting on intelligence, went to the Baillou Hill Road South area, where they found the three suspects in possession of a handgun and a quantity of ammunition. Two males ages 22 and 19 years along with a 19 - year old female were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court later this week to face firearm possession charges.

In the second incident, around 3:40pm, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Desmond Close off, Cox Way, where they recovered a handgun. No one was arrested in this matter.

In the third incident, around 5:55pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to the Carmichael Road area, where they recovered a handgun and a high-powered assault rifle, along with a quantity of ammunition. No one was arrested in this matter.

In the fourth incident, around 6:40pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Malcolm Road West, where they recovered two (2) shotguns. No one was arrested in this matter.

In the fifth incident, around 7:00pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Peach Street, where they recovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. No one was arrested in this matter.

In the third incident, around 4:55pm, officers from the Central Detective Unit, acting on intelligence, went to Thompson Boulevard, where they recovered a shotgun. No arrests were made in these incidents. Investigations are ongoing.

Mobile & FTIU Seize 4 Firearms

Police have seized four (4) firearms of the streets of New Providence in three separate incidents between Tuesday 13th November 2013 and Wednesday 14th November 2013. In the first incident, shortly after 9:00pm Officers from the Mobile Division were on patrol on Claridge Road, when they observed fours persons in a Honda vehicle acting suspiciously. The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and uncovered a handgun. Three (3) males age 28, 26 and 22 years along with a 26 - year old female were taken into custody.

In the second incident, around 11:15 pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to the Kemp Road Area, where they uncovered two (2) handguns.

In the third incident, around 12:30 am on Wednesday 14th November 2013, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to the Amos Ferguson Street Area, where they uncovered a shotgun.

GB Police Makes $149.5K Drug Bust

A 42 year old male of Freeport, Grand Bahama is in police custody after he was arrested by officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit for Drugs, Firearms and Ammunitions. Reports are that on Saturday 9th November 2013, shortly after 11:00pm, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, armed with a search warrant, executed a search at an apartment in the Lucaya area, where they discovered (2) two black duffle bags and suitcases containing multiple packages of suspected marijuana wrapped in black, brown and clear plastic. Officers also discovered half a pound of suspected marijuana hidden in a freezer. Upon further search officers discovered a handgun and a number of ammunition. The suspect was arrested and taken into police custody. The drugs, firearm and ammunitions were all seized. The suspected marijuana is estimated to weigh 149.5 pounds and has a street value of $149,500.00 (one hundred and forty nine thousand, five hundred dollars). Police will continue investigations into this matter.

Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested. Firearm Recovered

A 20 year old man was taken into custody shortly after he committed an attempted armed robbery on Saturday 9th November 2013. According to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, the victim was at his Zirconia Court, College Gardens home, when a man armed with a handgun approach him and attempted to rob him of his cell phone. The complainant immediately screamed for help and alerted neighbours who came to his rescue. Neighbours were able to subdue the suspect and hand him over to police along with a handgun and a quantity of ammunition. Investigations are ongoing.

Mobile Division Makes Firearm Arrest

Two (2) men ages 35 and 24 years are in custody after they were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Saturday 9th November 2013. According to reports, shortly after 2:00pm, Mobile Division officers were on patrol on Amaryllis Avenue, Garden Hills, when they conducted a search of a grey Mercedes Benz vehicle with two (2) suspicious male occupants. During the search, the officers uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. The suspects were then taken into custody. Investigations are ongoing.

In the first incident, around 12:30pm on Friday 8th November 2013, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to a bushy area at Sunset Park off Carmichael Road, where they uncovered a handgun. In the second incident, around 2:30pm on Friday 8th November 2013, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence, went to a bushy area at Sunset Park off Carmichael Road, where they uncovered a handgun. No arrests were made in these incidents. Investigations are ongoing.

DEU Makes $26K Drug Bust at LPIA

A 19-year old male pilot and two other males ages 28 and 39 years are in custody after they were arrested for possession dangerous drugs on Wednesday 6th November 2013. According to reports, around 1:00pm, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), acting on intelligence, went to LPIA where they conducted a search of a private charter aircraft that had just arrived from North Andros. During the search of the aircraft, officers uncovered a black travel bag containing twenty-six pounds (26lbs) of suspected marijuana. The three suspects were then taken into custody. The estimated street value of the drugs is twenty-six thousand dollars ($26,000.00). Investigations are ongoing.

NED Makes $7K Drug Bust

Police have launched an active investigation into the discovery of a large quantity of drugs and ammunition found on Sunday 3rd November 2013. According to reports, shortly after 11:00am, officers from the Northeastern Division, acting on intelligence, went to Shady Tree Lane located in the Culmersville area off Mackey Street, where they conducted a search of a bushy area and found several packages of marijuana and a large quantity of ammunition. The marijuana, which weighed seven pounds (7lbs), has a street value of seven thousand dollars ($7,000.00).

FTIU Seize 2 Firearms

FIREARMS TRACING AND INVESTIGATION UNIT OFFICERS SEIZE 2 FIREARMS IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS
In its continued efforts to reduce the level of firearm related crimes police took two (2) additional firearms off the streets of New Providence, in separate incidents on Saturday 2nd November 2013.

In the first incident, around 7:55pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit, acting on intelligence, went to the rear of a local nightclub located on Cordeaux Avenue and Key West Street, where they uncovered an illegal handgun.

In the second incident, around 9:00, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit, acting on intelligence went to Williams Street, Nassau Village, where they uncovered an unlicensed shotgun. No arrests were made in the two incidents. Investigations are ongoing.

FTIU Uncovers 2 Firearm

Police have uncovered two firearms off the streets of New Providence on Wednesday 30th October 2013. In the first incident, Police acting on intelligence went to a vacant lot on Sutton Street off Kemp Road around 12:11pm, where they uncovered a shotgun. In the second incident, around 4:38pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit, acting on intelligence, went to the rear of an abandoned building on Amos Ferguson Street, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. No arrests were made in these two matters. Investigations are ongoing.

A 28 year old male of Fresh Creek Andros is in police custody after he was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Wednesday 30th October 2013. Reports are that sometime around 3:50pm, acting on information, officers went to Allenby Lane, where they conducted a search of the male and discovered on his person a .380 pistol. He was arrested and taken into police custody where he is expected to be charge. Investigations are continuing.

Fire Services Makes Firearm Arrest

Three (3) men ages, 25, 20 and 19 years are in police custody after they were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Tuesday 29th October 2013. According to reports, around 1:40pm, officers from the Fire Branch were on enquiries in the area of Sarah Mary Road, Millennium Gardens, where they conducted a search of the three men resulting in the officers finding a handgun in their possession. The three men were taken into custody and are expected to be charge later this week.




Eleuthera Police Makes $11.5K Drug Bust

Police have launched an investigation into the discovery of a quantity of drugs found in a boat moored at a dock in Hatchet Bay, Eleuthera on Sunday 27th October 2013. According to reports, Police in Eleuthera acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a vessel moored at a dock in Hatchet Bay around 1:15pm and uncovered eleven and a half pounds (11.5 lbs) of marijuana with an estimated street value of eleven thousand, five hundred dollars ($11,500). No arrests have been made in this latest discovery.

Two (2) men are in custody after they were arrested for possession of an illegal firearm in separate incidents on Sunday 27th October 2013.

In the first incident, around 3:00am, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team, acting on intelligence, went to a residence located at Curtis Street, where they arrested an adult male after they found a handgun and ammunition in his possession.

In the second incident, around 4:50am, officers from the Mobile Division, acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a male in the Wulff Road area and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in his possession. The suspect was then taken into custody. In the third incident, around 7:15am, officers from the Mobile Division, acting on intelligence, went to a vacant lot located at Eden Street, Yellow Elder Gardens, where the uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. DEU Makes $1.3M Drug Bust

Thirteen (13) men are in custody facing drug charges after they were arrested in two separate major drug seizures on Thursday 24th October 2013.

In the first incident, around 3:30am, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by officers from the Eleuthera Division acting on intelligence went to bushes in the Gregory Town area, where they uncovered two thousand pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of 2 Million dollars. A total of five men were taken into custody.

In the second incident, around 9:15 am, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by officers from the RBPF Marine Support Unit went the area of Finley Cay just off north Eleuthera, where they intercepted two speedboats with four male suspects on each boat. The officers conducted a search of both vessels and found over thirteen hundred pounds of suspected marijuana with a street value of 1.3 million dollars. Additionally, the officers uncovered a handgun with a quantity of ammunition. The suspects were all taken into custody.

GB Police Makes $625K Drug Bust

Police and other law enforcement officials on Grand Bahama make sizable dangerous drugs seizure. According to Police reports on Friday 18th October 2013, at approximately 1:45pm, acting on information Police and Customs Officers conducted a search of a container at the Freeport Container Port, Grand Bahama, where they discovered twenty-five kilos of suspected cocaine on the inside of that container. This latest find has an estimated street value of $625,000.00. No arrests for this particular incident have been made at this time. However, investigations are continuing. Police are reporting a large drugs seizure that occurred on Thursday 17th October 2013 Around 3:38pm, a team of officers from the RBPF Selective Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at a Yellow Elder Gardens home and uncovered forty-seven (47) pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of forty-seven thousand (47,000) dollars. A 32-year old female along with three (3) males ages 32, 29 and 27 years was taken into custody, and are now facing a number of charges related to the drug seizure.

A 32-year old man is in custody after he was arrested for possession of two illegal firearms and a quantity ammunition on Thursday 17th October 2013. According to reports, around 6:30pm, Mobile Division officers were on Patrol in the Flamingo Gardens area, when they observed the suspect acting suspiciously. As a result of excellent "text book" police work the officers were able to uncover a handgun and a submachine gun from the suspect along with a quantity of ammunition. The suspect was taken into custody, and is now facing a number of firearm related charges.

A 21-year of man of Ridgeland Park is in custody after he was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm on Wednesday 9th October 2013. According to reports, around 10:22pm Mobile Division Officers were on motorized patrol on Bahama Avenue, when they observed a suspicious Honda vehicle being driven in the area. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it sped off. After a short pursuit, the vehicle was brought to a stop at Second Street, Coconut Grove. The suspect alighted the vehicle and fled on foot with a handgun in his hand. The officers gave chase and captured the suspect after a brief foot case. The officers uncovered a handgun the suspect dropped to the ground and took him into custody.

Two (2) men ages 40 and 20 years of Bimini along with a 26-year old man from Grand Bahama are in custody after they were arrested for a large quantity of dangerous drugs in Bimini on Saturday 5th October 2013. According to reports, around 8:00am, acting in intelligence, a team of officers from Bimini along with officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, went to an area in North Bimini, where they found the three (3) men in possession of four hundred and eleven (411) pounds of Marijuana. The estimated street value of the drugs is four hundred and eleven thousand dollars ($411,000.00). The suspects were then taken into custody and have all been flown to New Providence. A 45 year old man from Andros and a 40-year old man from Abaco, along with two men ages 32 and 24 years from New Providence, are in custody after they were arrested for a large quantity of dangerous drugs on Sunday 6th October 2013. According to reports, around 4:00am, acting in intelligence, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, went to the Clifton Pier area, where they found the four men in possession of one hundred and eighteen (118) pounds of Marijuana. A 21 year old man of Yellow Elder Gardens is in custody after DEU officers arrested him for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Monday 7th October 2013. Two (2) 29 year old males along with two other males ages 19 and 15 years old are in custody after police arrested them for possession of ammunition on Saturday 5th October 2013. According to reports, Mobile Division officers were on patrol around 5:00am, when they observed a white vehicle travelling on Wulff Road with three suspects inside acting suspiciously. The occupants of the vehicle on seeing the officers sped off and after a short pursuit the officers brought the vehicle to a stop on Marathon Road. Three (3) illegal firearms and a quantity of dangerous drugs were seized during a special police operation on Wednesday 25th September 2013. According to reports, between 11:45am and 1:35pm, acting on intelligence, officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Forc's Selective Enforcement Team (SET) and Central Intelligence Bureau (CIB) executed search warrants at homes in the Nigeria and Higher Drive area of Flamingo Gardens resulting in the discovery of three (3) handguns and a quantity of marijuana. Also over eight thousand Dollars ($8,000:00) suspected to be the proceeds of crime was confiscated Six (6) men have been arrested in connection with these seizures. Investigations are ongoing.

Abaco Police Makes Drug Bust

A 23 year old male of the Bight, Moore's Island is in police custody after he was arrested for possession of Dangerous Drugs. Reports are that on Tuesday 24th September 2013, around 11:00am, a team of officers while on Moore's Island executed a search warrant on a residence where they discovered (30) thirty marijuana plants ranging from (4) feet to (10) feet in height. The suspect and the marijuana plants were all taken into police custody and flown into New Providence. The estimated value of the marijuana plant is $3500.00 three thousand five hundred dollars. On Wednesday 18th September 2013 around 10:30pm,police officers acting on information and armed with a search warrant, went to a residence on Churchill Drive and discovered an AK-47 rife with (2) magazines and a total of (49) 7.62 rounds of ammunition, police also discovered a black glock pistol with (9) .40 rounds. The occupants of that home (2) males and (1) female were all taken into custody. Police are searching for another suspect who also was an occupant of that home.

One of the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) most wanted men 40 year old Timothy Cole along with a 35-year old man and a 30-year man are in custody after police arrested them for Possession of a Firearm, Rape and Abduction on Monday 16th September 2013. According to reports around 4:45pm, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team, Central Intelligence Bureau and Mobile Division acting on intelligence went to the Fort Fin Castle area where they arrested the three suspects. The suspect Timothy Cole who was featured recently among the RBPF most wanted was found in possession of a loaded handgun. Investigations are ongoing.

DEU Uncovers Huge Marijuana Field

Drug Enforcement Officers have arrested a 50-year old man and is searching for two individuals who are behind a huge marijuana field found on Monday 16th September 2013. According to reports around 1:00pm, Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on intelligence, went to an area west of Gladstone Road where the discovered a huge field consisting of thousands of three (3) to ten (10) feet tall marijuana plants. The 50-year old male was arrested at the field in connection with this matter. Police also found the suspect in possession of a shotgun. Police are looking for two other male suspects in this matter. Police believe that the discovery of the marijuana is significant in a larger fight against street violence, in which drug pushers are known to purchase firearms with their profits and willing to use them to protect their illegal business. Mobile Division Makes Firearm Arrest

Two (2) men and two (2) women were arrested on Saturday 14th September, 2013 after a firearm was discovered in their vehicle. According to reports, around 12:30am, Mobile Division Officers on patrol conducted a search of a Honda Inspire vehicle occupied by the men and women at Balfour Avenue, where they discovered a handgun and ammunition. As a result, a 22-year-old man, an 18-year old man, a 18-year-old women and a 17-year old female were detained and taken into police custody for questioning.

According to reports, around 2:50am, Central Detective Unit (CDU) Officers acting on intelligence, stopped a white Ford Explorer jeep with three (3) male occupants in the area of Independence Drive and East Street. A search was conducted of the vehicle by the officers and an imitation handgun was uncovered. A 16 year old male is in custody after he was arrested by police for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Friday 16th August 2013. As police approached the males, they dropped an object and ran. Police gave chase and was able to arrest one of the males. The other two (2) males managed to elude police. Teen Girl Arrested With Shotgun

A 15 year old teen girl of Pilgrim Avenue off Boyd is in police custody after attempting to rob a business establishment, in the area of Baillou Hill Road and the East West Highway. According to reports around 12:48 pm on Friday 02nd August, 2013 the juvenile entered a business establishment purporting to be a customer. It is reported that once inside the establishment; the teen girl produced a shotgun and demanded cash. She was reportedly unsuccessful with her request and was eventually subdued by a security officer. It is further reported that as the female was being subdued, a gunshot was fired; however no one was injured. The female was arrested by police and her shotgun along with a quantity of shotgun shells confiscated. Active police investigations continue.

Mobile Division Uncovers 2 Firearm

In two (2) separate incidents on Friday 28th June, 2013 police removed two (2) firearms from the streets of New Providence. In the first incident a handgun was uncovered through a track road at Peter Street off East Street. According to reports around 11:20 am officers were on routine patrol on Peter Street when they observed two (2) males acting suspiciously. It is reported that the males on seeing the officers fled the area through a nearby track road and eluded police. Police conducted a search of the area where the men were and discovered the weapon. In the second incident officers of the Mobile Division uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition at Sunlight Cottage. According to reports around 6:00 pm officers of the Mobile Division were on routine patrol at Toote Shop Corner off East Street, when they observed a male wearing a white-shirt and a camouflage pants armed with a firearm. The suspect on seeing the officers fled the area and evaded police. Officers made a check of the area where they suspect ran and recovered the firearm. Active police investigations continue.

A male and a female are in police custody after being found in possession of a large quantity of suspected Marijuana on Thursday 27th June, 2013. CDU Makes Firearm Arrest

A 17 year old juvenile male of Blueberry Hill Road is in hospital after being shot by police. The incident reportedly occurred around 1:00 am on Thursday 6th June, 2013. Preliminary reports indicate that officers of the Central Detective Unit (CDU) were on routine patrol on Cordeaux Avenue and Key West Street when they observed a gray 2000 Nissan Sentra occupied by two (2) men acting suspiciously. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle however; the passenger produced a firearm and fired gunshots at the officers which resulted in him being shot and his weapon confiscated by police. The juvenile was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition. During the incident, the driver an 18 year old male of Sugar Hill Road was unharmed and taken into custody. In thee (3) separate incidents on Monday 3rd June, 2013 police removed three (3) handguns from the streets of New Providence and arrested five (5) men. Officers of the Central Detective Unit arrested the man around 7:17 pm at a business establishment located Soldier Road. In the second incident, a 21 year old man of Augusta Street was arrested after he was found in possession of a handgun and ammunition. Murder Suspects Arrested

Police are questioning two (2) males in connection with a recent shooting incident that has resulted in the death of a 21 year old male. The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 pm on Saturday 25th May, 2013. Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was walking through a track road at Thompson Lane, along with a male and a female when the incident occurred. The victim received multiple gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Acting on information officers from the Central Detective Unit (CDU) and the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) proceeded to Sunlight Village off East Street where they arrested the males and confiscated a handgun. A shotgun was confiscated by police on Saturday 18th May, 2013. According to reports around 11:30 am officers of the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) acting on information went to Dorsett Alley off West Street where they observed a man armed with a shotgun. It is reported that the culprit on seeing the officers, dropped the weapon into nearby bushes and fled the area. Police retrieved the weapon and are actively searching for the culprit, a resident of Hutchinson Street off Meadow Street.

Four (4) males were taken to court early this afternoon in connection with the Murder of 34 year old Kyle Bruner of West Fletcher Street, Chicago Illinois. 21 year old Craig Johnson of Clarke Alley, 20 year old Anthon Bastian of Abraham Street, 21 year old Marcellus Williams of Culmers Alley and 28 year old Jamal Dorsevil of St. James Road were all charged with Murder and Armed Robbery before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez in Court #1 Nassau Street on Friday 17th May, 2013. Preliminary reports indicate that around 4:30 am on Sunday 12th May, 2013 the deceased was walking north on Mackey Street along with three (3) others, two females and a male when the females were approached by two (2) men who exited a Honda Civic. It is further reported the deceased along with the other male went to assist the females and during the incident he was fatally shot.

DEU Makes $32K Drug Bust

Three (3) people, two (2) females and a 31 year old male of Mayfield Park Grand Bahama are in police custody after being found in possession of an estimated two (2) kilos of suspected Cocaine. Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the male around 6:30 pm on Friday 26th April, 2013 at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA). Preliminary reports indicate that the Grand Bahama resident was in the Domestic Departure Lounge at LPIA when officers conducted a search of his luggage, which was air marked for Exuma and discovered the drugs. Acting on information, around 6:50 pm Drug Enforcement Officers at Exuma conducted a search of two (2) females (ages 26 and 24 years) at the Exuma International Airport and confiscated an additional quantity of suspected Cocaine. The suspected Cocaine has a street value of thirty-two thousand ($32,000.00) dollars. Active police investigations continue.

Mobile Removes 2 Firearms from Streets

A 23 year old male of Pinewood Gardens is in hospital after being shot by police. The incident reportedly occurred around 3:10 am on Saturday 27th April, 2013 in the South Beach area. Preliminary reports indicate that the 23 year old along with a 21 year old male were driving a white Honda Fit, (suspected of being stolen) in the South Beach area when they reportedly fired gunshots at police. 1 Police returned fire which resulted in the 23 year old being shot and the second male being injured as a result of their vehicle crashing into a home on Valencia Drive, South Beach. The suspects were taken to hospital via EMS personnel where the 23 year old is listed in serious condition. The 21 year old was treated and discharged; however he remains in police custody. Police confiscated two (2) handguns along with a large quantity of ammunition from the suspects. Active police investigations continue.

Three (3) males ages, 48, 39 and 27 years are in police custody after being found in possession of an estimated seven hundred and fifty thousand ($750,000.00) dollars worth of drugs on Wednesday 24th April, 2013. Drug Enforcement Officers arrested the men around 11:40 am after conducting a search of a red Kia Sedona Van occupied by the men. Preliminary reports indicate that DEU officers acting on intelligence went to Silk Cotton Street, Pinewood Gardens where they confiscated forty-two (42) kilos of suspected Cocaine and fourteen (14) pounds of suspected Marijuana. The suspected Cocaine have an estimated street value of seven hundred and thirty-six thousand ($736,000.00) dollars and the suspected Marijuana fourteen thousand ($14,000.00) dollars. Mobile Division Makes $9K Drug Bust

A 40-year old man of New Providence is in custody after Police arrested him for possession of a large quantity of dangerous drugs and an unlicensed firearm on Monday 22nd April 2013. According to Police reports, around 7:30pm Mobile Division officers were on patrol in the Treasure Cove area of Eastern New Providence, when they observed a male driver sitting in a parked white Toyota Taxi Van acting suspiciously. As the officers approached the vehicle, the male driver attempted to knock one of the officers down. The officers were able to detain the male without incident. The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found over nine thousand (9,000) pounds of suspected marijuana. The male was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. The drugs have an estimated street value of over nine thousand (9,000) dollars. The officers then conducted a search of the suspect's Ruby Drive residence where they found a high-powered weapon. Investigations are ongoing.

SET Uncovers Firearm

On Saturday 20th April 2013 around 1:30am officers from the Selective Enforcement Team were on mobile patrol on Quakoo Street when they observed a group of men acting suspiciously. The men on seeing the officers fled on foot and threw an object to the ground. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the men. The officers retrieved the object and found it to be a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. Investigations are ongoing.

Officers of the Airport Police Station arrested two (2) Colombians after they were found in possession of five (5) pounds of suspected liquid Cocaine. Mobile Division Removes 3 Firearms From Streets

In three (3) separate incidents on Thursday 7th March, 2013 officers of the Mobile Division removed three (3) firearms from the streets of New Providence.
In the first incident, a 33 year old male of Matthew Street was arrested after he was found in possession of a handgun and ammunition. According to reports, around 8:35 am officers of the Mobile Division were on routine patrol on Robinson and Claridge Roads when they conducted a search of gold 2009 Honda Accord and discovered the weapon on the suspect and subsequently arrested.

In the second incident, a handgun along with a large quantity of ammunition was uncovered from a property at Nassau Village. Preliminary reports indicate that around 10:40 am officers of the Mobile Division acting information proceeded to Butler Street, Nassau where they uncovered the weapon. No arrests were made in connection with this incident.

The third weapon was removed shortly after 11:00 am on Thursday 7th March, 2013. Preliminary reports indicate that Mobile Officers acting on information proceeded to Matthew Street, Nassau Village where they uncovered a high powered weapon from a bushy area. No arrests were made in connection with this. In other matters, officers of the Mobile Division cited twenty-six (26) drivers for various traffic infractions and arrested six (6) people. A 57 year old male of Father Calnan Lane was arrested reference to Causing Grievous Harm, a male on an outstanding Criminal Warrant, and four (4) males after they were found in a reportedly stolen green Honda Accord. According to reports officers of the Mobile Division arrested the men around 12:20 am on Friday 8th March, 2013 in the area of Robinson and Claridge Roads. Active police investigations continue.

DEU Makes $1M Drug Bust

In two (2) separate incidents on Friday 01st March, 2013 police confiscated over one million (1,000,000.00) dollars worth of suspected Marijuana. In the first incident, forty-two (42) pounds of suspected marijuana, which has an estimated street value of forty-two thousand ($42,000) dollars was confiscated from a residence off Market Street. According to reports around 3:30 pm officers of the Drug Enforcement (DEU) Unit along with officers from the K-9 unit executed a search warrant on a residence at Eleuthera Close and discovered the drugs. A 50 year old male resident was arrested and is assisting police with their investigations.

In the second incident thirty-three (33) bales of suspected Marijuana was confiscated from a home on John Street of Market Street. Preliminary reports indicate that around 9:00 pm DEU officers executed a search warrant on the home and discovered the drugs. The drugs weighed one thousand, eleven hundred (1,011) pounds and have an estimated street value of one million, eleven thousand ($1,011,000.00) dollars. Six (6) males, five (5) Bahamians and a Jamaican national were taken into custody. Active police investigations continue.

In two (2) separate incidents officers of the Central Division removed two (2) weapons from the Street of New Providence. The first removal occurred around 9:46 pm on Thursday 28th February, 2013. Initial reports indicate that officers of the Central Division executed a search warrant on a residence at Rose Bud Street where they discovered the items. As a result, a 34 year old male was arrested and is assisting police with their investigations. The second removal reportedly occurred around 2:00 am on Friday 01st March, 2013. Officers of the Mobile Division continue to remove illegal firearms from the streets of New Providence. The latest recovery occurred around 8:00 pm on Tuesday 26th February, 2013. Initial reports indicate that officers of the Mobile Division were on routine patrol on Lavell Road off West Bay Street, when they observed a group of males acting suspiciously. It is reported that the males on seeing the officers fled. Officers pursued the males; however; they were able to evade police. Police conducted a search of the area where the men were and discovered two (2) firearms; an imitation handgun, an illegal pistol along with a quantity of ammunition and a quantity of suspected marijuana. Over seventy (70) rounds of assorted ammunition along with an illegal pistol were uncovered by officers of the Mobile Division on Tuesday 26the February, 2013. According to reports around 3:00 pm officers of the Mobile Division were on routine patrol on Pinedale off Wulff Road, when they observed two (2) men acting suspiciously. To date, police have removed a total of fifty-four (55) firearms and one thousand, one hundred and seventy-nine (1,179) rounds of ammunition from throughout the Bahamas. Forty-nine (49) kilos of suspected Cocaine was confiscated by officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit along with personnel from OPBAT on Thursday 21st February, 2013 at Great Inagua. According to reports around 4:00 pm DEU officers along with personnel from OPBAT arrested six (6) males, all Haitian nationals, on board a blue and white 89ft wooden vessel called "Trinity" after being found in possession of a large quantity of suspected Cocaine. The drugs weighed one hundred and twenty-three (123) pounds and have an estimates street value of seven hundred and thirty-five thousand ($735,000.00) dollars. The man was arrested around 10:40 am on Wednesday 20th February, 2013 inside a business establishment on First Street, Coconut Grove. In the second incident DEU officers and the K-9 Unit officers uncovered a handgun in bushes at Amos Ferguson Street. Preliminary reports indicate that around 1:40 am on Thursday 21st February, 2013 officers acting on information went to the area where they uncovered the weapon. No arrests were made. Active police investigations continue.

Two 37-year old men are in custody after they were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of an imitation firearm on Saturday 9th February 2013. According to Police reports, around 4:15pm Officers from the Central Division acting on information received stopped and searched a silver Honda vehicle occupied by the two suspects on the corner of East Street and Fritz Lane. SED Officers Makes Firearm Arrest

Two (2) males aged 25 and 22 are in custody after they were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Thursday 7th February 2013. According to Police reports, around 8:00am Police received a report of two men fighting in the street on Thatch Palm Avenue, Pinewood Gardens. A lone officer from the Southeastern Division responded to the location where he met the two suspects engaged in a fight over a handgun. In what can only be described as an act of bravery, the lone officer was able to arrest both suspects and seize the handgun along with a quantity of ammunition they were fighting over. A 39-year old man of Malcolm Allotment is in custody after he was arrested for Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of Dangerous Drugs on Saturday 2nd February 2013. According to Police reports, around 2:00pm Officers from the Mobile Division were on mobile patrol on Tyler Street and Boyd Road, when they observed two occupants of a black Rodeo Jeep acting suspiciously. The officers stopped the vehicle and one of the suspects clad in a red pants and white shirt jumped out and ran dropping a shotgun. The officers were able to arrest the other suspect in the vehicle. The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and uncovered a quantity of dangerous drugs. Investigations are ongoing.

Three (3) Panamanian men aged 47, 38, and 37 years are custody after they were arrested for being in possession of a large amount of cash on Friday 1st February 2013. According to Police reports, around 5:00pm Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information received, executed a search warrant at room of a local downtown resort and seized over three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) in cash, suspected to be the proceeds of crime. The suspects were subsequently arrested and are assisting DEU officers with their investigations into this matter.

According to Police reports, around 5:20pm on Thursday 31st January 2013 Officers from the Mobile Division were on patrol on Berdeen Street between Parkgate Road and Strachan's Alley when they observed a group of men standing in front of a residence acting suspiciously. On seeing the officers one of the men fled on foot. The officers pursued the man but were unable to catch him. However, the officers recovered a handgun that the man threw to the ground. According to Police reports, around 8:30pm on Sunday 20th January 2013 Officers from the Mobile Division acting on information went to Coleman Lane off East Street where they observed two men involved in an altercation. The men on seeing the officers fled on foot. The officers gave chased behind the two men but were unable to catch them. However, the officers located a handgun along a quantity of ammunition that dropped from one of the men's waist. Police are seeking the whereabouts of the two suspects. Investigations are ongoing.

A 32-year old man is in custody after DEU Officers arrested him for possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply on Friday 18th January 2013. According to Police reports, around 6:20am a team of DEU officers acting on information received executed a search warrant at a home located at Old Boat Alley for dangerous drugs. During the search the officers uncovered four (4) pounds of suspected marijuana with an estimated street value of four thousand dollars ($4,000:00). OPBAT Makes $1.3Million Drug Bust

Eight (8) Haitian men are in custody as a result of a large drug bust by Operation Bahamas, Turks and Caicos (OPBAT) in Inagua on Friday 4th January 2013. According to police reports, around 9:00am officers assigned to OPBAT acting on information conducted a search for dangerous drugs of a Haitian vessel by the name of The L'assistance Express that had just arrived at Great Inagua from Haiti. During the search officers uncovered eighty-nine (89) kilos of suspected cocaine. Eight (8) men on board the vessel were subsequently arrested and taken into custody. The estimated street value of the drugs is 1.3 million dollars. The suspects and the drugs have all been flown into the capital. Investigation continues.
