NEW PROVIDENCE

ADULT MALE INJURED IN SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are searching for two (2) male suspects connected with a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday 23rd March, 2024, which left a 23-year-old male injured.

Police were alerted via its Shot Spotter technology around 8:20 p.m. to gunshots being discharged at the junction of Burial Ground Corner and East Street. Initial reports revealed that a white Japanese vehicle with two (2) male occupants approached the victim's vehicle and opened fire on it as he was traversing Burial Ground Corner, resulting in the victim being shot.

The victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle, where he was treated for non-lifethreatening injuries and subsequently discharged.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have any additional information that can advance this matter to contact 919/911, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991/2/3, or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.

STOLEN VEHICLE ALERT

Police seek the public’s help in locating the following vehicles that were reportedly stolen on Saturday 23rd March, 2024:

  1. A silver 2014 Nissan Note L/P #AR0115 – stolen from Charles Drive
  2. A brown 2013 Nissan Cube L/P #SN5827 - stolen from Hawthorne Road
  3. A black 2013 Nissan Juke L/P #AD5580 – stolen within Stapleton Gardens

If these stolen vehicle are seen please contact 911, 919, or the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991. Furthermore, anonymous tips are also welcome through CRIME STOPPERS at 328- TIPS (8477).

POLICE PROBE LATEST HOMICDE

A 42-year-old male is dead and another is seriously injured following a shooting incident in the Kennedy Subdivision area.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 11: 00 a.m. on Sunday 24th March, 2024, two males were outside in front of a residence on Gilda Street when they were approached by a lone gunman who began firing multiple gunshots in their direction before fleeing into a nearby white Japanese vehicle.

Both victims, aged 41 and 42, sustained multiple gunshot injuries and were transported to the hospital by EMS personnel; however, the 42-year-old succumbed to his injuries a short while later, and the 41-year-old remains in critical condition.

Police are actively investigating this incident and are appealing to members of the public who may have any additional information that can advance this matter to contact 919/911, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991/2/3, or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC FATALITY

A 58-year-old man, who was hospitalized following a traffic accident that occurred around 6:15 a.m. on Monday 18th March, 2024 has died.

According to initial reports, a 26-year-old male, the driver of a red 2011 Ford Fusion, was traveling West on Queen’s Highway when he reportedly veered into the path of a white 1998 Toyota Hiace bus traveling east, being driven by the 58-year-old male, who was also accompanied by two adult male passengers, when both vehicles collided.

EMS personnel attended the scene and transported both drivers and passengers to the hospital to seek medical attention; however, on Saturday 23rd March, 2024, the 58-year-old driver succumbed to his injuries while hospitalized.

Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
