NEW PROVIDENCE
POLICE CONFISCATE FIREARMS & DRUGS: SUSPECTS ARRESTED
In two separate incidents, on Tuesday 19th March, 2024 police confiscated two (2) firearms and a quantity of suspected marijuana, leading to the arrest of six (6) adult males.
In the first incident, shortly after 7:00 p.m., officers from Operation Black Strike conducted a routine stop-and-search on Wilson Track of a maroon Chrysler vehicle and found inside the vehicle a loaded high-powered weapon, resulting in the arrest of the four (4) male occupants aged 32, 28, 27, and 25.
In the final incident, shortly before 8:00 p.m., officers from Operation Ceasefire, including the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, along with the assistance of the K-9 Unit, executed a search warrant at a home on Jackson Street in Nassau Village.
During the search, a loaded firearm and a quantity of suspected marijuana were discovered, leading to the arrest of the male occupants, aged 37 and 32.
The drugs weighed 7.5 ounces with an estimated street value of $800.00.
Investigations are ongoing into both of these incidents.
POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY
An investigation has been launched into an alleged armed robbery incident that occurred on Tuesday 19th March, 2024, in the area of South Ocean Drive.
According to preliminary reports, around 10:20 p.m., the victim was in his vehicle traveling North on South Ocean Drive. He approached the intersection at Frank Watson Boulevard and was accosted by two motorcyclists, one of whom was armed with a handgun, who robbed him of cash and other personal belongings before they fled the area.

POLICE INVESTIGATE DOUBLE SHOOTING INCIDENT
Two (2) adult males are hospitalized following a shooting incident at a business establishment situated on Fire Trail Road, off Carmichael Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that around 2:20 p.m., on Tuesday 19th March, 2024 two males were on the outside of a business establishment when they were approached by the occupants of a gold Japanese vehicle, who shot them before speeding off.
The first victim, aged 49, sustained a gunshot wound to his lower extremity and was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, where he remains in stable condition.
The second victim, aged 52, received multiple gunshot injuries and was also taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, where his condition is listed as serious.

OPERATION CEASEFIRE: FIREARM CONFISCATED
Police and Defence Force Officers from Operation Ceasefire confiscated a loaded firearm shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday 20th March, 2024.
Initial reports indicate that during routine mobile patrols in the area of Wellington Street, officers observed a lone male dressed in dark clothing acting suspiciously, who, upon seeing the officers, quickly fled. Officers searched the immediate area and confiscated a firearm containing ammunition.
Investigations are ongoing into this matter by the Anti-Gang & Firearm Investigation Task Force.

POLICE INVESTIGATE BOATING ACCIDENT
Police are actively investigating a boating accident that has resulted in the death of a 67-year-old male visitor from Montero, U.S.A.
The incident reportedly occurred around 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday 20th March, 2024 in waters near Winding Bay, Eleuthera.
Initial reports indicate the male was participating in a diving excursion along with family members when he was reportedly struck by a vessel in the immediate area.
The male was severely injured to the upper body and was retrieved from the water, where Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was administered until the arrival of the doctor, who examined the victim and confirmed no signs of life. Investigations into this matter continues.
