NEW PROVIDENCE

TWO ARRESTED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

In less than 8 hours, police apprehended another two (2) individuals on Thursday 29th February, 2024, while at their residence in Yellow Elder Gardens after confiscating a loaded weapon.

According to preliminary reports, around 8:40 p.m., officers from the Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task Force and the K-9 Unit arrived at the Seymour Street residence, executed a search warrant, and discovered a firearm containing ammunition, resulting in the arrest of an 18-year-old male and a 48-year-old female.

Further investigations into this matter will be conducted by the Anti-Gang & Firearms Investigation Task Force.

POLICE SEARCH FOR ESCAPEE

Police have launched a manhunt for 29 year old, Tevin Fritz, D.O.B. 20-Feb-1995 of Joe Farrington Road, who was detained in police custody for armed robbery.

According to reports, shortly before 9:00 p.m., on Thursday 29th February 2024 the suspect escaped from the Southern Police Station, and fled east along Quakoo Street, despite efforts made by officers to re-capture him.

Fritz is described as 5’6”, with a dark complexion and black hair, with a low haircut.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact 911, 919, the Criminal Investigation Department @ 502-9991/2 or provide tips anonymously to CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS (8477).

Police wish to advise that person(s) found harboring this escapee, will be prosecuted.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: ARRAIGNMENT

Police in Grand Bahama wish to advise the general public that on Friday 01st March, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., four (4) individuals—a 62-year-old male, a 54-year-old male, a 61-year-old female, and a 30-year-old female—will be placed before the Magistrate Court for Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

UPDATE: WANTED SUSPECT CAPTURED

Police wishes to advise the general public that the search for Tevin Fritz, D.O.B. 20-Feb-1995 of Joe Farrington Road, has concluded on Friday 01st March, 2024, following his arrest.

According to reports around 2:25 p.m., officers from Operation Cease Fire, acting on information, apprehended the 28-year-old on Celery Drive, near a softball field without incident after he escaped lawful custody on Thursday 29th February, 2024 shortly before 9:00 p.m., at the Southern Police Station.

Investigations continue.
