NEW PROVIDENCE

POLICE SEIZE MORE THAN 150 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION: SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Police are questioning a 24-year-old male and a 49-year-old female in connection with a large quantity of ammunition confiscated from a residence in the Bozine Town area shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday 21st, 2024.

According to initial reports, Police and Defence Force officers from Operation Ceasefire uncovered more than 150 rounds of ammunition while conducting a search on the suspects home.

Investigations are ongoing into this incident.

TWO FIREARMS & STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED BY POLICE FOLLOWING ARMED ROBBERY: SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Two males, ages 40 and 17, have been arrested following an armed robbery that took place on Wednesday 21st February, 2024, leading to the seizure of two (2) loaded firearms and the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

The incident reportedly occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Dean Street, off Nassau Street

Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was in the front yard of a residence when an unknown male confronted him, brandished a firearm, and robbed him of his silver 2017 Honda HR- V before a second male emerged from nearby bushes, they entered the stolen vehicle, and fled the scene traveling in an eastern direction.

Officers, on routine Saturation Patrol in the immediate area observed a male fitting the description of one of the assailants exiting nearby bushes and running into a yard on Infant View Road; he was subsequently detained. Officers searched the exterior of the premises, where they discovered a loaded firearm, leading to the arrest of the 17-year-old male. A secondary search of the suspect’s home also revealed an additional firearm containing ammunition.

Officers acting on information recovered the victim’s vehicle in bushes on Dorchester Street and arrested a second male, aged 40, in the area of Infant View Road in connection with this incident.

The Criminal Investigation Department, along with the Anti-Gang & Firearm Task Force, will continue investigations into this matter.

NEW PROVIDENCE POLICE CONFISCATE FIREARM

Police successfully seized a loaded firearm on Wednesday 21st February, 2024, in the Adelaide Village community shortly after 6:00 p.m.

According to reports Western Division officers, acting on information, arrived in the vicinity of Mitchell Street and Caroline Lane where they searched a derelict vehicle, resulting in the discovery of a firearm containing ammunition, along with additional ammunition.

No arrest was made in connection with this incident.

The Anti-Gang & Firearm Task Force will continue investigations into this matter.

POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Gladstone Road shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday 21st, 2024 that left a 33-year-old male hospitalized.

Initial reports indicate that the victim was driving south on Gladstone Road when an unidentified vehicle overtook him, followed by another vehicle. It is reported that he heard multiple gunshots and felt an impact at the rear of his vehicle, only later discovering that he had been shot to the lower back.

The victim drove to a business establishment on Carmichael Road until authorities and EMS personnel arrived. He was later transported to the hospital for further medical attention.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY INCIDENTS

An investigation is underway into two (2) separate armed robberies that took place on Wednesday 21st February, 2024.

In the first incident, shortly after 8:00 p.m., the victim, who was seated on his black & gold Yamaha motorcycle in the parking lot of Sandy Port, was approached by a lone male who produced a firearm and robbed him of his motorcycle before fleeing in a westerly direction along the West Bay Street corridor.

In the final incident, around 9:30 p.m. the victim while leaving a residence in his red 2013 Nissan Cube L/P # AZ8265 on Hamster Road was accosted by two males dressed in dark clothing. It is reported that one of them brandished a firearm and robbed the victim of his vehicle. Both culprits entered the vehicle, and fled east on Hamster Road making good on their escape.

Police are appealing to members of the public to be on the lookout for the stolen motorcycle and vehicle. Persons with information regarding these incidents are urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 502-9991/2/3, 919, 911, or CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS.

POLICE SEEK STOLEN VEHICLE

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a dark brown 2015 Acura TLX L/P# AV3888 that was reportedly stolen from a female on Thursday 22nd February, 2024, shortly after midnight while at a service station in the vicinity of Kemp Road.

If this vehicle is seen, members of the public are asked to contact police at 919/911, the Criminal Investigations Department at 502-9991/2/3, CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS or visit the nearest police station.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA: FOUND AMMUNITION

Police in Grand Bahama successfully seized a quantity of ammunition on Wednesday 21st February, 2024, off East Pioneers Way shortly before 9:00 p.m.

Preliminary reports confirmed that officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a derelict vehicle where they discovered a large quantity of ammunition. No arrest was made in connection with this incident.

Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
