POLICE INVESTIGATE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
Police are investigating a traffic accident involving a police officer that occurred in the area of Sumner Street, Nassau Village, shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Friday 2nd February, 2024.
According to preliminary investigations, the officer was riding north on Sumner Street on a police motorcycle when a red Nissan note driven by an adult male reversed from a yard on the western side of the street and collided with the police motorcycle.
The officer received serious injuries to his facial region, right arm, and lower extremities. He was promptly taken to the hospital by emergency medical services, where, at present, his condition is stable.
Police are currently seeking the whereabouts of the driver of the red Nissan Note who absconded from the area on foot, abandoning his vehicle at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing into this incident.
