NEW PROVIDENCE

ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY In the early hours of Wednesday 03rd January, 2024, an armed robbery occurred in the Nassau Village area, involving two (2) male suspects. Preliminary reports indicate that after 1:00 a.m., the culprits approached a male patron on Alexandria Avenue as he was leaving a takeout restaurant. One of the suspects reportedly brandished a firearm and robbed the victim of his white 2011 Nissan Cube L/P #AV7527. Both culprits left the scene in the stolen vehicle, heading in a western direction along Alexandria Avenue. Anyone possessing additional information about this incident is urged to contact 911, 919, or the Criminal Investigation Department @ 502-9991. BIMINI: POLICE CONFISCATE AMMUNITION On Tuesday 02nd January, 2024, police in Bimini acting on intelligence confiscated a quantity of ammunition around 10:30 a.m. Preliminary reports indicate that while at an airport, officers conducted a search of the western property, where they discovered and seized the ammunition. No arrests were made in connection with the discovery. Investigations are still ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATE DOUBLE HOMICIDE FOR THE NEW YEAR Police are investigating another fatal shooting incident that occurred just before noon on Wednesday 03rd January, 2024, resulting in the deaths of a 29-year-old male and a 27-year-old female. The incident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Prince Charles Drive and College Gardens. Preliminary reports revealed the victims, who were the occupants of a gray Nissan Cube, were traveling west along Prince Charles Drive when a gold Nissan vehicle pulled alongside them. It is reported that three armed males exited the vehicle and discharged multiple gunshots into the gray Nissan Cube, which resulted in both the male driver and his female passenger being shot multiple times before the assailants managed to flee the area west on Prince Charles Drive. Both victims were assessed by emergency medical technicians, who determined they showed no vital signs of life. As a result of the incident, three vehicles - a white Nissan Cube, a blue Suzuki Splash, and a red Mazda Demio - were also damaged by gunshots. A seven-year-old male child, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, sustained minor injuries from shattered glass. Police have successfully located the vehicle involved in this incident, abandoned on Hanna Road. The deceased male was out on bail for an attempted armed robbery and faced charges previously for firearms possession and manslaughter.
