NORTHERN BAHAMAS

GRAND BAHAMA COURT ARRAIGNMENT Police wish to inform the public that on Thursday 18th January, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., the Criminal Investigation Department, Grand Bahama, will place three (3) juvenile males before the Freeport Magistrate’s Court for Grievous Harm.

This is in connection with the stabbing of a 13-year-old male in Lewis Yard on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

OPERATION YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS GRAND BAHAMA:

Officers from Grand Bahama's Central Division conducted a road check along East Sunrise Highway on Wednesday 17th January, 2024, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

During the road check, officers inspected one hundred and twenty (120) vehicles. Additionally, officers issued citations to twenty-seven (27) drivers for various traffic infractions, while six (6) individuals were arrested due to outstanding traffic and criminal warrants.

FAMILY ISLANDS

ELEUTHERA: POLICE & IMMIGRATION EXECUTE OPERATION PERSISTENT PRESSURE Police on the island of Eleuthera, in collaboration with the Bahamas Department of Immigration, conducted a joint operation titled “Persistent Pressure” on Wednesday 17th January, 2024, between 6:00 a.m. and noon

During the operation, Police Officers inspected a total of two hundred and fifty (250) vehicles, issued twenty-nine (29) citations to motorists for various traffic infractions, and arrested four (4) individuals for possession of dangerous drugs.

Additionally, officers from the Department of Immigration stopped eighty-four (84) individuals for immigration purposes, leading to the detention of fourteen (14) persons for further checks.

However, immigration officers transported four (4) suspects lacking legal status in the Bahamas to Nassau.

Police wish to remind the public that these operations will be ongoing throughout the islands of the Bahamas; hence, the public is encouraged to adhere to all laws governing the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, as ANY violations will lead to individuals being placed before the Magistrate’s Court.
