NEW PROVIDENCE
OPERATION CEASEFIRE: FOUND FIREARM
On Saturday 20th April, 2024, officers attached to Operation Ceasefire inclusive of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force confiscated a firearm on Mount Royal Avenue.
Initial reports suggest that shortly before 1:00 a.m., officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a vacant property near a restaurant, where during the search, a firearm containing ammunition was discovered. No arrests were made in connection with this incident.
The Anti-Gang & Firearms Task Force Unit will continue investigations.
ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred just off Cowpen Road, on Friday 19th April, 2024.
Preliminary reports indicate that around 11:00 a.m., a male and female were sightseeing at the Bonefish Pond when they were confronted by an unknown male who brandished a firearm and robbed them of an undisclosed sum of cash before fleeing the area.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact 911, 919, or the Criminal Investigation Department @ 502-9991. Furthermore, anonymous tips are also welcome through CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS (8477).
STOLEN VEHICLE UPDATE
Police recovered a black Suzuki Solio on Friday 19th April, 2024, in the area of Dignity Gardens. The vehicle was reportedly stolen on Tuesday 26th March, 2024, from Grove Close.
POLICE INVESTIGATE FIGHTING INCIDENT ON PRINCE GEORGE WHARF
The Royal Bahamas Police Force is aware of a widely circulated video on various social media platforms depicting three (3) adult males involved in a physical altercation on Prince George Wharf.
The incident, which occurred on Friday 19th April, 2024, is under active investigation by officers from the Central Police Station, as a 33-year-old male has filed an official complaint in connection with the incident.
Following this incident, police arrested a 27-year-old from Malcolm Road and are actively looking for the second male involved.
Although no injuries were reported in this incident, police wish to warn the general public that fighting is a criminal offense, and anyone found in violation will face prosecution before the Magistrate’s Court.

NORTHERN BAHAMAS
ABACO: OPERATION YIELDS POSITIVE RESULTS
Police in Abaco, in collaboration with the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, conducted a joint operation named “Second Phase” on Queen Elizabeth Drive and East Bay Street.
On Friday 19th April, 2024, between 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the operation specifically targeted prolific offenders, and motorists that failed to adhere to the traffic laws and regulations.
The outcome of Second Phase was successful, resulting in the arrest of four (4) males for drug-related offences and the issuance of traffic citations to sixteen (16) motorists.
The public is urged to fully comply with all laws governing the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, as failure to do so will result in individuals being brought before The Magistrate’s Court.
