Police are investigating an apparent drowning

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating an apparent drowning that occurred on Monday 28th, June 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly after 7:00 p.m., police received information of the discovery of a male that was found submerged in waters under a pier located Victoria Avenue north. Officers were dispatched to the scene, and on their arrival they confirmed the compliant. An adult male was retrieved from the water. Emergency Medical Services examined the body and on their completion pronounced it lifeless. Police will await and autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death and an identification by a next of kin to verify the victims' identity. Investigations into this matter continue.

An investigation has been launched into the country's recent Homicide

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male whose body was discovered on Monday 28th, June 2021.

Preliminary reports are that shortly before 8:00 a.m., police were called to Pine Barren Road, where the unresponsive body of a male was found lying in bushes. On the arrival of the officers at the scene, they discovered the body of a male with injuries consistent with stab wounds. Emergency Medical Service visited the scene and pronounced the body lifeless. Police will await the identification by a next of kin to confirm the victims' identity. Investigations into this matter continues.
