Police are investigating two recent Homicides

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating the events surrounding two separate homicides that occurred that occurred on Thursday 24th, June 2021.

In the first incident, preliminary reports are that shortly before 4:00 p.m., police were alerted to a shooting incident which occurred on Peardale Road. Officers responded and on their arrival they met an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds and a male lying in the street unresponsive.

Emergency Medical Services were summoned, following their assessments of the victims, the male was pronounced lifeless and the female was transported to the hospital as a result of injuries she sustained.

In the second incident, preliminary reports are that sometime after 9:00 p.m., a male and female were at a residence located on First Street, Coconut Grove. When a light colored mid-size vehicle pulled up. An occupant then discharged a firearm in their direction injuring them. They were transported to the hospital by a private vehicle, where the male later succumbed to his injuries and the female is listed in serious but stable condition. Investigations into these matters are ongoing.
