POLICE INVESTIGATE BOATING ACCIDENT
Police are investigating a boating accident that has left a man dead on Saturday, 27th January, 2018. Reports are that shortly before 3:00pm, a man was diving in waters at Clifton Pier, in an attempt to remove a hose that was between a vessel and the dock. Due to the rough seas, he was pinned between the boat and the dock.
He was subsequently pulled from the waters, with serious injuries. Paramedics attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead a short time later. Investigations are ongoing.
ILLEGAL FIREARM SEIZED, 2 MALES AND 1 FEMALE IN CUSTODY
The unenduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to another illegal firearm being taken off the streets of New Providence.
Shortly before 4:00am on Sunday, 28th January, 2018 officers from the Anti-Gang and Firearms Unit along with officers from the Rapid Response Unit acting on information while at Victoria Avenue, conducted a search of a 2015 Kia Sportage jeep and recovered a black AK 47 machine gun and 17 rounds of ammunition.
Two male and a female were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court next week.
POLICE SEEK PUBLIC'S HELP IN SOLVING AN ARMED ROBBERY
Police are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have in solving an armed robbery which occurred on Saturday, 27th January, 2018.
Shortly before 9:00pm, a man armed with a firearm entered a liquor store on Carmichael Road, held the employees at bay and robbed the establishment of an undetermined amount of cash before running into a nearby residential area. Investigations are ongoing.
